Important Health Notice for Our Community

There are confirmed close contacts of measles in Christchurch. The Ministry of Health has published locations of interest where possible exposure may have occurred. You can check the list, dates, and times here:
https://info.health.nz/health-topics/conditions-treatments/infectious-diseases/measles/locations-of-interest

If you are fully vaccinated, especially with two doses of MMR, your risk of measles is very low.

If you were at one of the listed locations, please check the guidance on the link and follow the instructions provided. The advice differs depending on whether you are considered a close contact or a casual contact, and the Ministry of Health will guide you on what to do next if any action is needed.

If you are unvaccinated or unsure of your vaccination status, we recommend checking the link carefully and seeking advice as outlined.

If you develop symptoms such as fever, rash, cough, or red eyes, please call ahead before attending any clinic.

If you need help checking your immunisation record or have questions, you are welcome to contact us.

Guidance for anyone who has been at a place, known as a location of interest, at the same time as a person who has been confirmed as having measles. By following this advice, you will help prevent measles spreading.
