Dietary zealots could find fault in most of the diets I put together for my clients. They might call them out for being too high in carbs, too low in carbs, too high in fat, too low in fat, or too high in UPFs... But THAT is why we can't look at a clients Rx in isolation and without context. 🤷🏽‍♂️

It's not that people without valid nutritional qualifications and registration cannot get great results with their clients; it's that they haven't been trained and assessed on things like scope of practice, red flags, referral, and safety (e.g., drug-food-herb-supplement-diet interactions and contraindications).

Naturopathy CAN be evidence-based (EB). If a practitioner sticks to EB dietary advice, supplementation, lifestyle advice, and herbal medicine, and works in alignment with medical doctors, RDs and RCNs, it can be both EB and incredibly powerful.
Unfortunately, too many voices in Naturopathy are anti-science, in the "woo-to-Q" pipeline, or simply don't understand research and the scientific method, leading to inevitable cherry-picking.
What few realise is that this contrarian approach isn't holistic... It's just "alternative" for alternative's sack.
A truly holistic approach is, by its very nature, an embrace of science, accepted medicine, and all the things that will (with a high degree of scientific certainty) help improve an individual's health and performance.

I watched the Louis Theroux documentary “Inside the Manosphere” last night.
One thing that struck me was the pervasive fear in the Manosphere. From the top down, the Manosphere ecosystem is permeated by fear.
Fear of losing one’s privilege as a male, a ‘white’ male, a ‘western’ male.
Fear of women taking their jobs, their visibility, their ‘influence’.
Fear of losing some vague and arbitrary idea of ‘western’ or ‘white’ culture.
Fear of things one doesn’t understand, like Islam.
Fear born of ignorance and based on longstanding anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

I saw scared and broken men… Often victims of their own trauma, dressed up in the guise of empowerment and transcendence.

At the end of the day, I also saw a bunch of grifters who would rather selfishly use people for (ultimately unfulfilling) consumerist ends than try to make the world and society better. Unfortunately, they are also emblematic of a society that doesn’t just allow, but actively rewards dominance, consumerism, and the commodification of women…

I don’t care much for the pursuit of the trappings of what the Alpha-Bros believe it is to be a man…
And if that means I’m not a ‘man’, I’m happy to leave that label behind, because I’d rather (at least try to) be a good person and raise my sons to be the same.

Live your f**kin’ life. Be strong, be kind, be gentle.
Do what fills you up, irrespective of what the bros say.
Treat others as people, not as possessions to be used up and thrown away.
