Embark on a transformative journey of healing alongside like-minded individuals seeking greater balance and presence in their lives. This experience invites you to cultivate mindfulness—a profound state of awareness and living fully in each moment—which is essential for navigating the complexities of modern life with clarity and calm.
Mindfulness is more than a practice; it is a way of being that enables us to engage deeply with our emotions, manage stress effectively, and reduce confusion arising from conflicting feelings. Through guided learning and shared support, participants discover tools to embrace life more vividly, appreciating the richness of every experience without being overwhelmed by it.
By fostering this mindful approach, you will learn to anchor yourself in the present, enhancing your emotional resilience and gaining insight into your inner world. This journey is designed to help you unlock a more fulfilling life, where each moment is met with openness and a grounded sense of peace.
If you wish to explore this healing path further, please reach out to Terran at Kagyurime@gmail.com or call 02102490415 to book a place.
Course begins 7 May 9am
Venue Numi Yoga Space 94 Kerikeri Road, Kerikeri

There is a belief most of us grow up with and never stop to question. That humans are above everything else. That we have the right to use animals however we want. It feels normal because it is everywhere. It is on our plates, in our closets, in our traditions.

Joaquin Phoenix says something simple but powerful. The idea that one species has the right to dominate another sits at the root of many problems. Not just with animals, but in how we think about power itself.

When we accept domination as normal, it shapes everything. It makes it easier to ignore suffering. It teaches us that strength gives us permission. That if we can take something, we are allowed to.

But animals are not objects. They feel fear. They protect their young. They try to escape pain. Anyone who has looked into an animal’s eyes knows there is something there. Not nothing.

The system keeps us disconnected. We see products, not lives. We see food, not the story behind it. And most of us never chose this. We were born into it.

Still, we have a choice now.

Not overnight. Not perfectly. But step by step. One meal. One decision. One moment of awareness.

Because the question is not can we dominate. We clearly can.

The real question is who we become when we decide we do not have to.

Are your achievements secretly creating your suffering? Ashtavakra Teachings

According to the essence of the Ashtavakra Gita, what you chase and achieve in the world may not bring the freedom you expect. Instead, it can silently strengthen the sense of “I” — the doer — which is the very root of inner conflict.

This insight is not a direct quote, but a reflection inspired by the teachings of Ashtavakra. It points toward a deeper truth: suffering does not come from what you lack, but from the identity that keeps seeking fulfillment through achievement.

Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals.✅

Ambition and gratitude can exist at the same time.
Wanting more does not mean you have to ignore what you already have.

If you constantly focus on what is missing,
you will always feel like something is lacking, no matter how much you gain.

Because the mindset stays the same.

Gratitude shifts your perspective.
It allows you to recognize value in your current position
while still working toward something greater.

Without it, success can feel empty.
You reach one goal, then immediately chase the next,
without ever feeling satisfied.

But when you appreciate what you have,
you create a sense of fulfillment in the present.

And from that place,
your pursuit becomes healthier and more meaningful.

Because happiness is not something that suddenly appears when you have more.
It is something you build through how you see what you already have.

So keep striving. Keep improving.
But do not forget to appreciate where you are right now.

Because if you cannot be grateful now,
having more will not change that.
