Happy Monday,
Time to acknowledge and congratulate and this time its Troy Vujcich, our latest Athlete of the Month.

How did you discover Fit365 and why did you decide to give it a go?
Found Fit365 through Instagram and talking with mates, decided to give it a go as I was sick of my normal strength training routine and wanted to incorporate more cardio to stay fitter

What were you doing sport/exercise wise before Fit365?
Free diving/spearfishing/fishing, occasional football and tennis game but mostly just strength training

What is your favourite exercise?
Rope climbs maybe, hard to choose

And most hated exercise?
Probably wall balls

What changes in your health and performance have you observed since starting Fit365?
Definitely noticed a higher level of aerobic fitness as well as increase in strength. My diving fitness also improved and haven’t been sick at all this year so an improvement in health in general and just feel good after smashing a class out

What is one word that people use to describe you?
Dedicated maybe not too sure

What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting strength and conditioning training with Fit365?
Don’t start too heavy, focus on your strengths to start with and everything else will come together. Most importantly turn up as often as possible and don’t let yourself make excuses

Something nobody knows about you or would be surprised to know about you?
I used to hate the idea of going to a gym class but now I think I’d struggle to go back to solo workouts

Favourite activity outside of Fit365?
Diving

Where is your favourite place to eat in Mangawhai?
Toast

What type of music gets you pumped up for a workout?
House/edm

Proudest accomplishment at Fit365?
Bar muscle up

What are your fitness and or health/fitness goals for 2025?
Go to the gym at least twice a week while travelling and just maintain strength/body which might be difficult haha

Which other Fit365 member (s) inspires you the most?
Probably Courtney, she’s a machine, and Ethan’s strength/size.

Firstly Troy you will be missed! But like your training, you’ll hit your traveling like a bat out of hell and smash it!!
On our first meeting I knew you had stamina but wasn’t sure you could back it up……you can. You gave every session 100% and on most days exceeded the expected goals. You did it quietly and confidently and it was cool to watch you really come out of your shell over the last couple of months.
It wasn’t all smooth though, you had your sticky areas namely wrists, shoulders and hips but you slowed down when needed and listened and you got there. And then hello “Bar Muscle Up”. I think Krita and I woke the neighbours when you got over, proud Coaches ;-).

Have an amazing time overseas and we’ll see you when you get back!

What a beautiful start to the week, a little crisper but that sun!
Perfect weather for a run...and if you needed any motivation to embrace the longer k's look no further than our latest Athlete of the Month Sally Wood. Congratulations Sally!

How did you discover Fit365 and why did you decide to give it a go?
A mate went to this gym and enjoyed it so I thought it try it… class based gyms have never been my thing but these I love.

What were you doing sport/exercise wise before Fit365?
Was going to a gym that folded & needed a replacement - pretty much doing the same running, biking and kayaking as I am now.

What is your favourite exercise?
Running although I’m starting to like push pressing!

And most hated exercise?
Gym bikes😉

What changes in your health and performance have you observed since starting Fit365?
Much stronger physically and aerobically…. I feel I can do less run specific training for a running event.

What is one word that people use to describe you?
Competitive.

What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting strength and conditioning training with Fit365?
Keep at it …. Don’t be put off with your starting position- there are variations for all exercises and everyone is super supportive.

Love doing cryptic crosswords.

Favourite activity outside of Fit365?
Catching up with friends either socially or biking, walking or golfing.

Where is your favourite place to eat in Mangawhai?
Gringas for the atmosphere.

Big variety here as my daughter has introduced me to all sorts of music.

Proudest accomplishment at Fit365?
Member of the month😉

What are your fitness and or health/fitness goals for 2025?
Keep improving both strength and aerobically for possibly another go at C2C in 2027.

Which other Fit365 member (s) inspires you the most?
Jill and Courtney…. and anyone who can do toes to bar & a proper pull-up.

Sally, we love having you in classes.
Consistency, attitude and embracing hard work are not new concepts to you. They're exactly what have seen you excel in your endurance events and we enjoy hearing about the stunning locations you visit and the challenges you overcome. Its so cool that you get to compete with your daughter too, I'm sure you're an inspiration to her, as you are to us!
Strength training has been new to you and not always smooth, but you're easy to coach because you're so determined! We truly hope that your stronger body sees you competing for as long as you can!

We had just recently moved to Mangawhai and needing a gym to join, Georgia had also joined a few months before me so had a good review.

I was at BFT in Whangaparaoa.

Power cleans

And most hated exercise?
Overhead squats

What changes in your health and performance have you observed since starting Fit365?
Definitely functionally stronger

What is one word that people use to describe you?
Competitive

What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting strength and conditioning training with Fit365?
Drop your ego and have no expectations of yourself and listen to what the coaches have to say

Something nobody knows about you or would be surprised to know about you?
I've broken my back, had three knee surgeries and have a plate in my ankle - all from rugby

Favourite activity outside of Fit365?
Fishing

Where is your favourite place to eat in Mangawhai?
Gringas
What type of music gets you pumped up for a workout?
Drum and bass
Proudest accomplishment at Fit365?
Competing in the Beauty and the Beast competition with Georgia

What are your fitness and or health/fitness goals for 2025? To overhead squat properly and do a handstand walk

Which other Fit365 member (s) inspires you the most?
The 5.45pm golden oldies aka Ken, Herby & Mark.

Ethan the gains you have made since you’ve been with us have been very cool to see. You came to us, under the influence of your very fit and strong wife Georgia, so we had the expectation that you’d have some idea of what you were doing.
And you did, fit…tick, strong…tick, strong mindset…… big tick. However gymnastics……mobility…….., not quite so much 😉
And you knew it real quick that these skills were going to take a little more time and test your strong mindset and maybe even your confidence a bit.
Your improvements 10 months down the track are very real and something you should be so proud of. Your fight to improve your shoulder and spinal mobility sees you lifting better, running taller, kipping, pull ups, toes to bar even handstands and I see the fight in your eye with sn**ches and over head squats - you’ll get there!
Above all of this your presence and respect in class is so appreciated, you are the first to chat, laugh, encourage and motivate and you show this to everyone.
Ethan, thanks for your support to Fit365 and we know the gains will keep coming!

Time for some "Monday Motivation"......
Congratulations to our latest Athlete of the Month, the very cool and calm, Allan Roche!

How did you discover Fit365 and why did you decide to give it a go?
I think I saw your sign when going to the landscape yard. After twenty years working in building and not doing much exercise except physical construction, I was losing my ability to enjoy activities I used to take for granted due to lack of strength and stamina.

What were you doing sport/exercise wise before Fit365?
I used to walk daily as we had a big dog, so I would walk 45min up and down through bush walks close to home. Also went diving and swimming in summer.

What is your favourite exercise?
I don’t think I have a favourite, they can all be difficult to some degree.

And most hated exercise?
Same as above. Probably find running tiresome which is interesting considering how much I did as a teenager, lots of track and field and harrier running.

What changes in your health and performance have you observed since starting Fit365?
Recovery from exertion is so much better and overall strength as well.

What is one word that people use to describe you?
God knows. You’ll have to ask someone. I hope maybe calm, dependable. deaf

What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting strength and conditioning training with Fit365?
I have in fact suggested to a few people they check you out. I recommend they just get started and have a go.

Something nobody knows about you or would be surprised to know about you?
I am very interested in history and I am working my way through the library. Mostly NZ early settler and Māori and military.

Favourite activity outside of Fit365?
Anything outdoors, fishing /camping/ hiking.
Where is your favourite place to eat in Mangawhai?
At my kitchen table, Kath is great cook (I am ok at a pinch) we find that eating out can be disappointing at times. Not withstanding the social side of things.

What type of music gets you pumped up for a workout?
Anything with a beat really.
Proudest accomplishment at Fit365?
Actually quite happy with my journey to date and the investment in my physical and mental health. I had a medical check up recently and the doctor said “whatever you are doing keep at it”

What are your fitness and or health goals for the remainder of 2024?
I guess when you get to my stage in life you start to think what am I going to do and how am I going to live for the next ten years and what after that. The rest of this year I want to continue on and actually explore places in NZ that I have not been to and enjoy my wellness as much as possible.

Which other Fit365 member (s) inspires you the most?
I find so many people are inspiring and fun, I do enjoy teasing Janelle as she is just great. I do struggle with being deaf and can’t follow the banter during work outs easily which is my only complaint.

Allan, you’re one of our most consistent members and because of that we have seen huge improvements in your mobility and strength. You always come to class with a very positive and happy demeanour and we love to see you mixing it up with the younger members!
Allan you are an awesome example of the gains that are possible when you just keep showing up and getting it done.

Some inspiration to kick off a new week....
Congratulations Adrian Hughes, this post is all about you!

How did you discover Fit365 and why did you decide to give it a go?
Honestly I just found it by accident. Moving to Mangawhai I wanted a change and was looking for a new fitness journey. I can’t remember how I came across Fit365 but I hit up Aaron and just started coming in, simple as that really.

What were you doing sport/exercise wise before Fit365?
I’ve never really been a gym person, I was going to F45 in Auckland but mainly did sports - soccer, tennis, golf, road and trail running. I’ve always loved the outdoors.

What is your favourite exercise?
Anything that involves lifting a barbell, Fit 365 has opened up a new world to me with the barbell – sn**ch, cleans, deadlifts, squats etc were all new to me and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey of learning to lift. Any barbell day is a good day now!

And most hated exercise?
Burpees! I like to blame that being tall makes them harder, but they are probably just hard and/or I’m lazy.

What changes in your health and performance have you observed since starting Fit365?
I’m definitely stronger and have more muscle. But really the best result is just feeling well, being fit, healthy and having energy and enthusiasm for each day. That is the best outcome I could ask for.

What is one word that people use to describe you?
Depends who you ask, I’m pretty committed and focussed when something is important to me, but I can also be cheeky and casual when I’m just cruising

What advice would you give to someone with regard to starting strength and conditioning training with Fit365?
Unless you want to be old and feeble, unable to tie your shoes or play with your grandkids, you should probably do some lifting now. Honestly though, just try it, keep turning up and have some fun.

Something nobody knows about you or would be surprised to know about you?
Most people don’t know that I’ve been vegetarian my whole life. I like to say I was vegetarian before it became cool. Apparently this makes me chronically protein deficient, but somehow I’m still alive and feeling good.

Favourite activity outside of Fit365?
Playing with my son at MAZ park or at the beach, and I love getting out into nature or doing some physical work around the house

Where is your favourite place to eat in Mangawhai?
Bennett’s creamy mushrooms is my go to cheat meal. Brewed As for the coffee. Te Arai links for the occasional parents date meal

What type of music gets you pumped up for a workout?
Jo has a pretty wild soundtrack, always something upbeat to fire us up.

Proudest accomplishment at Fit365?
Surviving the “Murph” challenge was a significant challenge and I enjoyed training for it. I enjoy new things and Fit 365 always has something interesting to focus on and practice

What are your fitness and or health goals for the remainder of 2024?
Consistency is key, just keep showing up and challenging myself in each class.

Which other Fit365 member(s) inspires you the most?
Only the toughest of men go to the 9.30am class! Jonas, Andrew, Rob etc push me to go the extra mile. Stefan is an honorary but absent member of the 9.30 Hardcore crew.

Thank you to you both Aaron and Jo for creating a supportive and fun environment to workout. Your contribution to people’s health and wellness and your personal and hands on approach is appreciated and is clearly effective as proven by having such a dedicated following. Here’s to many years of being healthy, humble and human.

Adrian, you’re the epitome of turn up, get it done with a smile and repeat….then watch the magic happen!
You’ve been patient with yourself and your abilities and over the last few months its been cool to see you push the boat out a little more. There’s not too many holes in your overall skill and strength level, so now the gains will just keep coming.
Adrian, you are very kind and your energy and encouragement in class goes a long way to helping others enjoy and achieve alongside you.
Here’s to the rest of 2024!
