Our cacao circle was a little different on our last retreat. After a couple of hard years, we all agreed there was a feeling of stagnation that required a little more movement than our usual seated meditation. We started off the way we usually do, with our meditation circle while we drank our cacao. Then .schwass guided us through some embodied movement with ecstatic dance based around the elements. Myself and many of the guests had never done anything like this before. We all started off curious, but maybe a bit shy. By the end though, Shardasia had us all feeling so comfortable that we were all moving, dancing, laughing and feeling into our bodies. The result was beautiful. A group of women moving in any way that felt natural and free, without judgement, without fear. So next time you are feeling fuzzy or stagnant, I invite you to put on some music and just feel into your body. Start moving in any way that feels good. Don’t worry about how it looks, allow yourself to be silly. Literally dance like no one is watching. Feel the energy shift in your body as you move. And feel empowered by your ability to change how you feel with conscious action.
