Te Wiki Hauora Wāhine - Women’s Health Week
This week, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and wellbeing of wāhine across Aotearoa New Zealand. It's important for women to put their health first - because when wāhine thrive, our communities do too.

Our info.health.nz website contains lots of info about women’s health topics, including:
⭐ Breast screening
⭐ Cervical screening (you can now do a self-test!)
⭐ Periods
⭐ Menopause

And lots more!

There is also lots of great information and resources on the Women’s Health Week website: Celebrating Women’s Health in Aotearoa | Women’s Health Week 2025

If you have any concerns about your health, have a kōrero with your usual doctor or use the new 24/7 online GP service via the info.health.nz home page.

😍 Happy Women’s Health Week! 😍

Welcoming future health stars to Hutt Hospital! ✨
We’re proud to host the next generation of talent through our growing Work Experience Programme, now in its third year!

Recently, students from Hutt Valley High School and Wainuiomata College joined us for a full-day orientation, covering Infection Control, Personal Safety, and Health & Safety - before beginning their four-week placements.

📅 Each student spends one day a week at the hospital, rotating through departments to explore the many career paths available in health. Some have already shown strong interest in fields like Physiotherapy, Radiology, Building, and Dietetics, and will stay in those areas to deepen their experience.

💙 A huge thank you to our clinical and non-clinical teams for supporting this programme and helping shape the future of health.

To all the students - we wish you the very best. Enjoy your time with us at Hutt Hospital!
