Metta, the philosophy and practice of universal kindness and love. Metta is a Pali word which means "loving kindness". Combined, Metta Yoga can help to create a balanced outlook, providing opportunities for you to flourish, all while creating a healthy and strong body. I have been teaching yoga since 2007 and am a fully qualified and accredited teacher through Power Living Australia, as well as Yi
n Yoga through Bernie Clark Vancouver. I am able to offer Vinyasa, Power yoga and Yin Yoga; Yoga for core strength, yoga for stress management, yoga for a strong and supple body, yoga for calm and centering, yoga for life. Whatever you would like to achieve through your practice of yoga, we are here for you. We offer a Vinyasa Flow, to open the body, rid ourselves of the daily stress by flowing the body through a series of poses which flow from one into the other with the breath. We end class with a meditation session. Power Yoga is vinyasa (astanga) with a little more emphasis on empowering the body and the mind. Both Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga are vigorous practices that are accessible to anyone. We also offer a deep, meditative Yin practice to open the body, the energy meridians and chakras. Along with the poses we explain each pose and the benefits – physical, emotional and spiritual. Check out Metta Yoga on Facebook and Instagram (MettaYogaMasterton) for any more info. See you there! "Metta Yoga with Amanda is a grounding & uplifting experience. From the moment you walk into the light, airy studio, there’s a calming energy that invites you to slow down & reconnect with yourself. Centrally located, the space is bright & welcoming. Amanda herself is a warm, kind, & approachable teacher. Her deep knowledge of yoga is clear in the way she guides each class, blending mindful movement, breath, & alignment with ease. She creates a space that feels inclusive & supportive, no matter your level of experience or flexibility. I always learn something new from Amanda — whether it’s a subtle shift in posture, a deeper understanding of breath, or one of her thoughtful words of wisdom or quotes that lingers with me throughout the day. Her presence is both calming & motivating. You can always ask questions, & Amanda is open to suggestions, making it a collaborative & respectful environment. The 6am class is a brilliant way to start the day. It sets a grounded, focused tone & helps me feel mentally & physically prepared. What stands out most is Amanda’s emphasis on listening to your body the good & the areas that need to by nurtured. Metta Yoga is a nurturing, empowering space guided by heart, skill, & kindness." "Amanda allows you and encourages you to be present and aware so that you can come into your body and your breath. She gives you the space to do that in. She reminds you to notice what each pose feels like and to be truly mindful, present and authentic in your practice. I truly enjoy and look forward to her classes. " Alan

"When I first met Amanda I liked her immediately, she was friendly and radiated positive vibes. Two years on and she hasn’t changed. Amanda is a wonderful yoga teacher. She always greets you with a warm, welcoming smile before each class, and in her class there’s always a relaxed (non-judgemental) and friendly atmosphere. People of all levels respond to her easy-going manner and fun teaching style. She also pays attention to us so that we’re challenged, but never feel out of our depth - encouraging us all to give it a try! Amanda makes yoga accessible. She takes the time to explain the physical poses (asanas), as well as the more ethereal and meditative aspects of yoga so you actually feel like you’re learning something! Furthermore, she has a very good sense for sequencing and guiding you through the various poses in a safe and sensible manner. I find each of her classes a journey in self-discovery because she allows us to have the freedom in the practice to do what our bodies can. It’s about being mindful and in the moment. And, she always has a wise word or two to share with us. I find Amanda’s classes powerful and deep, and I always leave with a calm mind and a feeling of physical wellness and relief. I think that a person of any level would enjoy and benefit from spending time on their mat in one of Amanda’s classes." - Charles Ngaki (Thorndon)
