Thank you to everyone who joined us for our ANZAC Service this morning.
It was a truly special time as we came together to remember, honour, and reflect on the courage and sacrifice of our fallen soldiers.

A heartfelt thank you to Rev Merv Jones for leading such a meaningful service, and to our wonderful residents whose involvement made the morning even more personal and touching.

Sharing stories, memories, and quiet moments over a cuppa and morning tea reminded us all of the importance of community and connection on a day like today. Lest we forget. 🌺

Wairarapa Village residents have once again shown the true meaning of community 💛

Over recent months, our talented and dedicated residents have poured their time, care, and creativity into crafting a stunning range of handmade items — from beautifully knitted pieces and intricate cross-stitched works, to heartfelt paintings, delicious baked goods, and many other unique treasures. Each item carried not only skill and creativity, but a shared purpose: to support the life-saving work of the Life Flight Trust.

These handcrafted goods were proudly showcased and sold at local markets, where the wider community came together in support. Every purchase, every conversation, and every contribution helped build something truly special.

Yesterday, that collective effort came full circle as residents gathered to officially present their fundraising total — an incredible $1,867.00 👏 A moment filled with pride, gratitude, and a deep sense of connection.

This achievement is more than just a number. It reflects the kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit that makes Wairarapa Village such a special place to call home.

To everyone who crafted, baked, donated, supported, and encouraged — thank you. You have made a real difference.

☘️✨ What a shamrockin’ good time we had this St Patrick’s Day! ✨☘️

We kicked off the day getting our bodies moving with Josh (working up an appetite, of course! 💪), before settling in for a delicious morning tea and a cosy cuppa ☕

The fun kept rolling with an Irish quiz to test our luck, some hilarious limericks that had us all giggling, and a colouring competition bursting with creativity 🎨

And of course… a cheeky Baileys and a smooth Guinness or two 🍻😉

Then the real magic arrived… 💚
We were treated to a special visit from the St Patrick’s School children, who brought so much joy with their lively parade around the village — smiles, waves, and plenty of Irish spirit all around! 🍀🎶

Laughter, music, and wonderful company made it a day to remember 💚🍀

Now that’s how you celebrate St Paddy’s Day!

There was a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful food to enjoy, and fantastic live music from the talented Lynn.
Her great tunes had everyone singing along and really added to the fun of the afternoon. 🎶

🍦🎶 The ice cream truck is here! 🎶🍦

What a BEAUTIFUL hot day at Wairarapa Village for a visit from the one and only Mrs Kool!
☀️ And just like that… we were all kids again.

That familiar jingle drifting through the air, the excitement of choosing your favourite flavour, trying to eat it faster than it could melt — and of course the classic ice cream drip down your hand! 😄🍦

There were big smiles, happy chatter, colourful sprinkles, and plenty of “I remember when…” stories being shared. Childhood memories came rushing back with every lick and laugh. 💛

Sunshine, sweet treats, and smiles all round — it doesn’t get much better than that! 🌈✨

Beep beep! 🚦 What a wheel-y great morning at Wairarapa Village!

A huge thank you to Spike and Wayne from Mobility Wairarapa for rolling in with their mobility scooters and giving our residents the chance to learn, laugh, and take a spin!

They shared loads of helpful information, answered questions, and then the real fun began… test drives around the village!

There were smiles all round as residents enjoyed getting behind the handlebars, building confidence, and maybe even discovering their need for speed (don’t worry — all within the speed limit 😉).

It was a fantastic, hands-on morning filled with laughter and a great sense of adventure. Thanks again, Spike and Wayne, for bringing the fun to us!

Our Silvers Foxes Men’s Club enjoyed a fantastic outing to the Coach House Museum in Feilding — and what a journey it was!

Home to an outstanding collection of rural New Zealand heritage, the Coach House showcases over 140 years of history right in the heart of the Manawatū.
From pioneering days to stories of prosperity, the museum truly takes you on a journey through yesterday, today and tomorrow.

It was more than just a history lesson — it was a chance to cultivate friendships, grow our minds and harvest a few special memories together. Plenty of great conversations were had (and a few stories of “how things used to be” as well!).
After exploring the museum, the group enjoyed a lovely lunch together — sharing good food, plenty of laughs and great company.

These outings are always a highlight, bringing everyone together and strengthening the connections that make our Silvers Foxes such a special group.

🎳 Staff vs Residents Bowling Showdown! 🎳

What a fantastic morning here at Wairarapa Village for our annual Staff vs Residents bowling competition!

There was plenty of friendly competition, lots of fun banter, and a few very “confident” staff members who may have underestimated our residents 😉

With cheers from the sidelines, strikes celebrated like championships, and a well-earned cuppa and morning tea, it was a true community event filled with laughter and connection.

And the winners this year? 🏆
Our incredible residents took out the victory!
