It’s official! Our team of two are finally back together again. Tarn has returned to the clinic in a more consistent manner and is now available for appointments 3 days a week. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, alongside Katrina’s regular weekly hours.

Treat your feet 👣 to some Steigen high performance running socks. Made for runners and also great for an active lifestyle to protect your feet from blisters. These socks allow airflow, moisture transfer and breathability. We have various lengths in the clinic including some size 12+ and some pilates socks for grip.

Tonight was spent at Hockey Wairarapa (Official) awards for 2023. We are proud to be a sponsor of the Wairarapa hockey umpires. We love to support those who make community sports happen and officials are an important part of that. Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners of all awards. Thank you to everyone who has supported ProActive Massage over this time. I really appreciate every one of you.

Creating, developing and growing a business has taught me a lot over the last 9 years.

I am most proud of expanding my knowledge over the last few years and being able to provide our patients with the support and care to not only help improve symptoms but long term benefits of teaching them how to care for themselves more and rely less on constant treatments.

❌ There's an incredible amount of misunderstanding about what pain really is.

⚠️We've been sold the myth that pain is a sign that the body is broken, or damaged. While this CAN be true, it isn't ALWAYS true.

🧠 In fact, neuroscience reveals that pain is *many* things - and serves multiple functions.

Pain is:
✅ the body's warning system 🚨
✅ an evolutionarily response to POTENTIAL danger (not just actual danger)
✅ constructed NOT just by the body part that hurts, but by BRAIN + body working together 🧠
✅ ALWAYS EMOTIONAL - amplified by negative emotions like stress, anxiety + sadness; and reduced by positive emotions like joy + calm
✅ a motivator for self-protective behavior, including stopping, resting + seeking help 🏃🏻‍♀️
✅ always subjective. No matter what anyone says, the ultimate expert on your pain is YOU. 🙏🏼
