Our Story
Musculoskeletal Therapist: Katrina Sigvertsen
ProActive Massage was founded in September of 2014, while Katrina was a 2nd year student at The New Zealand College of Massage in Wellington. Studying full time, commuting and starting a business wasnβt easy but itβs true what they say - anything worth doing will be hard work. Katrinaβs main goal in starting her career in massage therapy is to help people from all walks of life. I focus on treatment & sports massage, rehabilitation & injury prevention. Ideal for anyone who has an active lifestyle. ProActive Massage can help you to get you back to your optimum health & allow you to do the things you enjoy. I am currently based at 438 Queen Street, Kuripuni Village, Masterton, Wairarapa. I was awarded the Academic Excellence Award for 2015 from The New Zealand College of Massage as the top student. I have had over five years experience within the massage industry and have worked with members of the Wellington Phoenix (Football), Wellington Saints (Basketball), Central Pulse (Netball) and various other sports teams at local, regional national and international level. In addition to the sportspeople I have worked with I have had experience in the Neonatal Unit at Wellington Hospital and with Oncology patients. I have completed a Bachelor in Health Studies (Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy) at The New Zealand College of Massage. I also hold a Diploma in Health Science (Massage and Sports Therapy), a Diploma in Health Science (Therapeutic Massage) and a Certificate in Relaxation Massage. I also have a current First-aid certificate.
