Hypnosis Technique of the Week: Regression Therapy😵💫
Sometimes the mind holds onto old memories that shape how we feel and act today, even if we haven’t thought about them in years.
For example, someone might feel anxious speaking up at work, without realising it links back to a memory of being laughed at in school. That old emotion gets “stuck” and still shows up in the present.
In regression therapy, we gently revisit those memories in a relaxed, trance-like state. The goal isn’t to relive the pain, but to release the emotions that got trapped there. When this happens in a safe, supported space, those old feelings no longer spill over into the present, freeing you to live with more peace. The memory is then "reprocessed" and filed away back into the long-term memory bank without the heightened emotional energy attached to it.
This is an advanced technique of Hypnotherapy that requires mental preparation and is not for everyone. Fortunately, there are also many techniques that allow memory reprocessing without revisiting the initial event.
