Wairarapa Osteopathy is taking part in a pilot research study investigating how patients respond to osteopathic treatment - using Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). This research will create data which reflects patient's perspectives, enhances quality of care, and supports the development of further research.

This involves patients completing a short, anonymous online questionnaire at the start of their treatment, then three follow-up questionnaires at one week, six weeks and 12 weeks after their first treatment.

We are looking for 30 patients who are seeking treatment for a new symptom episode (either new patients or existing patients).
If you are interested in participating in this study, please contact us at info@wairarapaosteopathy.nz or phone/text 021 024 20134 for more information.

In Wellington at a lecture for my new subject on Quantitative Analysis, learning about statistics and how to design research studies. Feeling a bit overwhelmed as I havenโ€™t done any maths since the final year of high school 27 years ago (!)

We've had lots of help trying to finish this puzzle in our waiting room, with some people coming in a few minutes early for their appointment, or even popping in on their way past to put in a few pieces ๐Ÿงฉ

๐ŸŒŸ Registered Osteopath Kane Falconer: ๐ŸŒŸ
As an osteopath, I enjoy working with people of all ages, supporting their health and wellbeing through every stage of life. I have a particular passion for treating babies and infants, helping them through common early-life challenges with gentle, effective care. I also value the opportunity to connect with my patients - building trust, understanding their needs, and working together toward better overall wellbeing.

I wanted to post about the Wairarapa Hospital today. We have just come out of an experience of having our daughter admitted after a serious medical event, thankfully she is home now and recovering โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน .

There is a lot of negativity about the health system in the media, but I feel so grateful to have this hospital and the NZ health system available to us when we need it. The doctors and nurses are dedicated, highly trained professionals who really do an amazing job, and keep bringing kindness and empathy to each and every patient they come into contact with. I am so grateful for the care my daughter has received over the last week and for the fact that we have a national health system, as imperfect as it might be.

From Andre Kulesza, Registered Osteopath:
As an osteopath I treat many different conditions at varying severities. Each osteopath has their own style and interests, making each practitioner unique in their approach to problems solving.

My areas of interest include the management of chronic conditions such as complex trauma post motorcycle or industrial accident. Multi-system issues such as chronic fatigue, M.E., fibromyalgia and multi-factorial conditions that involve several different issues at once.

I often see patients that have been to multiple specialists in the health system without finding relief and are on the verge of giving up hope.

I pride myself in being able to find management pathways for even the most complex of cases, and even if I am unable to resolve a patient's issue I can create support networks with people who can.

I've been walking around Fenscham Reserve, just out of Carterton, since the kids were babies. There's always new treasures to see in this beautiful piece of original bush - colourful fungi, an Easter orchid, a morepork, and one special night the colours of the Aurora Australias.

Osteopathy is a modality that bridges science and nature...osteopaths study for four years at university learning the science of how the body works, yet one of our core philosophies is that we support the body's natural healing ability, because we are not seperate from nature, we are nature.
