Flu season is coming… and the flu is a terrible house guest. It arrives uninvited, spreads to everyone, and refuses to leave.

Good news, though. Whaiora flu vaccination clinics start 1 April, with day clinics, late night clinics and weekend clinics to make it easy to pop in.

You don’t need to be a Whaiora patient, so bring your whānau, your workmates, or that mate who always says “I never get sick.”

Getting your flu shot helps protect you, your whānau and our wider community. That’s manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and kotahitanga in action.

Before this video, Gabrielle shared a beautiful kōrero with us about her journey around immunisations.

With their first child, Gabrielle and her partner took time to talk, ask questions, and seek information from others and health professionals before making their decision. For her, immunisations are an extra layer of protection for her tamariki.

Gabrielle was also open about being unsure about the whooping cough vaccine for herself. Through ongoing conversations and access at her local pharmacy, she felt supported to make an informed choice.

At Whaiora, we respect that every whānau’s journey is different. We’re here to provide trusted information, answer your pātai, and support you in making informed decisions about your health and your tamariki.

Get in touch with Whaiora or visit the mobile immunisation health bus out in the community to kōrero more. We will be at Lakeview School Food Fair Friday 6th March, 5-7 pm.
