Norway’s Rogfast tunnel project will create the world’s deepest car tunnel, reaching 1,300 feet below sea level and stretching 27 kilometers underwater.

Costing $2 billion and set for completion by 2033, it will connect highways on Norway’s west coast, dramatically reducing travel times between Stavanger and Bergen.

The tunnel will remove 8 million cubic meters of rock and break multiple records as the world’s longest underwater road tunnel and deepest four-lane road tunnel.
