Methven House

Methven House The rest home is licensed for 14 residents. Our goal at Methven House is to create a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for our residents to enjoy.

Methven House is owned by the people of Methven and administered by a Committee comprised of community members who take great pride in providing a high level of care to our residents whilst maintaining a home-like environment. Additional services provided include Meals on Wheels, Daily activity programmes/care, four flats for independent seniors and respite care. Our facilities include a large sunny lounge room at the front of the house with comfy chairs for the residents to relax in during the days activities. The lounge also includes a fish tank and a piano for the residents to use and watch local children come and give performances. We have a TV with Freeview and DVD player so residents can keep up to date with documentaries or dramas and the DVD player is also used for fitness activities. The large gardens are available for residents to wonder around and they can sit out and enjoy the peaceful setting. We have numerous activities and events during the year, some are weekly while others are held annually such as:
• Indoor bowls
•Balloon tennis
•Housie
•Quizzes
•Outings to school performances
•Weekly church services
•Mid Winter Dinner
•Christmas BBQ with family, staff and committee
•Visits to and from other rest homes / day care

Then on Wednesday was the big move. Highly organized with 15minute intervals for each residents & families to put there belongings on a vehicle & move around to the beautiful Methven central. A huge thanks to Ghia, Sue & all the staff for a perfectly organized shift. Thanks to all the families. Some start shifting furniture on Sunday before. . Thanks to all the MCT staff & all the helpers on the day. Also thanks to the Friends of Methven house & a few extras for the wonderful lunch that was severed for all the residents & all the helpers MCT have done an amazing job to bring this wonderful facility to Methven. We are very grateful & very lucky Thanks to Dav & team who have spent numerous hours of volunteering to have this ready for us🙂
