✨ He mihi aroha, he mihi maioha ✨
To our Tokomairiro whānau, ngā mihi nunui for inviting us to deliver a Tangihanga Wānanga for your hapori. Your openness, your courage, and your commitment to reclaiming death care as a whānau led, mana enhancing process left us deeply moved.
Special shoutout to our powerhouse Courtney your mahi in catering a stunning kai nourished more than just our bodies and your embodiment as our tūpāpaku for the day? Unforgettable. You held the space with such dignity and vulnerability. We appreciate you so, so much.
A big mihi to Sasha and ngā kaimahi ō Tokomairiro Waiora, thank you for making this wānanga possible.
To every whānau member who showed up, shared kōrero, and allowed yourselves to be seen, thank you. The segment meant to “lighten the mood” ended in tears and reflection, reminding us all of one simple truth: Allow yourself to cry. That release is not weakness, it’s ritual, it’s healing, it’s whakapapa.
It was a beautiful day. One of truth, laughter, tears, and transformation.
Ngā mihi aroha
