Why we attend the shears
Shearers wear moccasins and twist and flex their feet while crutching the sheep so they get significant callus build up on their feet from pressure
If untreated it can lead to wounds
The nature of a shearers work means they struggle to attend health appointments so we go to them!

We spent Friday and Saturday in Alex with four podiatrists covering the national Merino shears competitions. As part of a partnership with hauora in alex we provided podiatry to shearers from all over the country who are attending the evebt whether as spectators or participants.
