💧 What Exactly Is Dehydration? 💧

Dehydration happens when your body loses more fluids than it takes in, and it’s more common than you might think.

Mild to moderate dehydration is defined as losing 2–6% of your body weight through fluids.

😮 Did you know?
Up to 75% of people are dehydrated every day simply from losing water and electrolytes through sweat, saliva, urine, and normal body processes.
And because water alone doesn’t contain electrolytes, it often isn’t enough to fully rehydrate you.

Common Causes of Dehydration:

🏃 Exercise
Sweat = electrolyte loss. This can reduce performance and lead to muscle cramps.

✈️ Travel
Dry airplane air, hotter climates, busy days, and more alcohol can all deplete fluids.

🍷 Alcohol
Alcohol acts as a diuretic, increasing fluid loss and contributing to hangover symptoms.

🔥 Excessive Heat
Hot weather means more sweating — and more fluid and electrolyte loss.

🤒 Fever
A raised body temperature leads to increased perspiration and reduced hydration levels.

🤢 Vomiting & Diarrhoea
