A real journey

That beautiful connection when your baby.
Nursing is an intimate moment between a mother and her baby. But it's not always easy, painless, beautiful or glamorous as this image may suggest.
It personally took us about 4 months until we could establish a healthy lactation. Crying from both parts significantly dropped then 🙏
We all have different journeys with , and it's important to remember that there's no right or wrong way to do it.
Some of us struggle with sore ni***es, latching issues or . Some have to deal with judgmental stares, unsolicited advice, or societal pressure to breastfeed in a certain way or for a certain amount of time.
But no matter what your experience is, you're doing an amazing job. Breastfeeding can be hard work, and it takes time, patience, and dedication.
So whether you're exclusively nursing, pumping, using formula, or doing a combination of all three, know that you're giving your baby the best possible start in life.
Let's celebrate the beauty and challenges of nursing, and support each other through the ups and downs. Because at the end of the day, we're all doing what's best for our babies and ourselves. 💕

Paso a saludar mientras amamanto a un hermoso bebé de ya 4 meses.
Mucho ha pasado en este tiempo y he estado con ganas de compartir un poco de mi experiencia como nueva madre con la esperanza de conectar con quien resuene con esta gran faceta del ser mujer.
Mi reciente experiencia de embarazo, dar a luz, postparto y maternidad han movido tanto en mi que me ha inspirado a crear un espacio en donde otras mujeres, en las diferentes etapas de este camino, se puedan sentir acompañadas, contenidas, comprendidas y apoyadas.
Veremos cómo evoluciona y se materializa esta intención. Por ahora, me dedico a ser madre de la mejor manera que me va saliendo.

I stop by to say hello while I breastfeed a beautiful 4-month-old baby.
Much has happened in this time and I have been wanting to share a bit of my experience as a new mother in the hope of connecting with others who resonates with this great aspect of being a woman.
My recent experience of pregnancy, birthing, postpartum and motherhood have moved me so much that it has inspired me to create a space where other women, at different stages of this journey, can feel accompanied, contained, understood and supported.
We'll see how this intention evolves and materializes. For now, I dedicate myself to being the best mother I can be.

Most of you probably didn't even know I was pregnant, but I have been for the last 9 months! and I am now about to meet my baby!

So I'm here to announce that I'll be away on maternity leave from the 18th of April until further notice.
I'll let you know when I feel ready to come back into the clinic action. I may even pop in earlier to say hello.

In the meantime, I'll be working on my recovery and enjoying and learning how to be a mother.

And who knows, I may come back with a refreshed perspective and a different proposition to accompany you on your health journey.

Making breakfast this morning 🥝🫐🥬🍌

Smoothies are always popular in the summer and one of the main healthy options to an easy &/or takeaway breakfast.

Here are 8 tips to ensure you are actually making a healthy option, rather than having dessert for breakfast.

1. Aim for a balance of macronutrients. Try to cover protein, fat and carbohydrate needs. This will nourish your body while helping you feel satiated for longer.

2. Protein, help your body repair cells and make new ones.

3. Healthy fats, keep you satiated and help you absorb fat-soluble vitamins.

4. Carbohydrates are our basic fuel!

5. Mix vegetal and fruits, ideally low on sugar content.

6. Portion and freeze your fruit. This will help you reduce waste food, expand variety, allow you to use just the amount you need, function as ice and save you time!

7. Chew your smoothie! which may sound funny but it’s essential for the best digestion and absorption of nutrients. Making a thicker smoothie and topping it with granola/oats, chopped fruit and/or nuts will help you with this task.

8. Even if you make it to go, chew it, slow down and enjoy it.

We have all felt some degree of anxiety at some point in our lives. A feeling of worry or apprehension about what's to come.⁠

This is normal, anxiety is our body's natural response to stress and help us prepare to "fight or flight".⁠

However, when this fear becomes chronic and we experience constant restlessness, high-stress levels that seem overreactive to the size of the event or inability to set aside a worry, this becomes detrimental to our health and can present as fatigue, insomnia, weight gain that is hard to lose and increases the risks of type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and other chronic conditions.⁠

For most of us, anxiety has become "normal" and we "learn to live with it". But it shouldn't and doesn't have to be like that! ⁠

Making some small changes in your daily habits can make a huge difference and I like to support the body in this process, using herbs with properties such as adaptogenic, anxiolytic, nervine tonic, mild sedative, adrenal tonic and whatever else the individual may be needing help with e.g. sleep support, digestive issues, etc.⁠

Rember, happy mind, happy life ;)⁠
