What a day for seniors at Surf Lifesaving Northern Region Pool Rescue Champs!

For many, it was their very first time competing in a senior event and they absolutely rose to the challenge, against strong competition from across the country.

🌟 Congratulations to Summer-Rose Watson for taking gold in the U15 100m Obstacles and bronze in the 100m Manikin Tow with fins, and to Cooper Allen on his bronze medals in the U15 50m Swim with Fins and the 100m Manikin Tow with fins.

Just as important as the medals are the incredible personal bests from nearly every athlete who competed. You should all be extremely proud of your efforts and progress!

A massive thank you to our coach, .eadie , for the brilliant coaching and the support you provide to the team – even stepping in as a mannequin handler when needed!

And finally, this event couldn’t have run without our amazing team of water helpers, officials, and timekeepers. Thank you to our wonderful parents and to Bryce and Finn, and the Northern Region staff, for executing such a well-organised event.

Our story

Muriwai Volunteer Lifeguard Service patrols Muriwai Beach, based on Auckland's wild west coast, every weekend between Labour Weekend and Easter. We also maintain a 24/7/365 Emergency Callout Squad of local and experienced lifeguards able to respond to Police 111 Callouts. We routinely top the lifeguarding statistics for the country as we take a proactive stance toward public safety and swiftly respond to emergencies.
