Community Services Card Surcharge

In recent years when we have reviewed our fees, we have made the decision not to increase the Community Services Card surcharge for our patients 18 years of age or over. However, with ongoing cost pressures, we have recently made the decision to increase the surcharge from $19.50 to $20. This will take effect from Monday 4 August 2025.

Good morning/Kia Ora

You may have heard over recent months a lot of comments around the pressures on General Practice and the challenges for many continuing to try to provide high quality, easily accessible care in what has become a more difficult environment.

We really value our patients at Carlyle Medical and the high quality care we endeavour to provide. After a lot of consideration and thought, we need to increase our fee for a general consult with a GP (this includes ACC surcharge consults). At this stage, all other fees will remain the same, including the Community Service Card (CSC). This fee will increase from Monday 17 February 2025.

18 Years and Over
GP consult (no CSC) $64
ACC GP consult (no CSC) $64

Some 18-24 year old patients may be eligible for funding, we will let you know if you are eligible for this.

Thank you for your understanding with this as we continue to try and provide you with an excellent health care service.

Fees Increase
We have recently completed the annual review for our consultation and prescription fees. As you may have heard in the media recently, general practice is struggling with under funding for the services we provide. However, we are also aware that a number of our patients are having similar problems. As a result, we have kept our fee increase as small as possible. From Monday 15 July, our standard consultation fee for 25 years and over will be $56, a repeat script $18 and an urgent repeat script $24. Fees for Community Card holders will remain the same at $19.50, as will the free under 14 consultations. Thank you in advance for your understanding. The Team at Carlyle Medical

Edit: 14-24 year olds are also all still currently free under the Rangatahi scheme
