~ Carers receive free entry of the same ticket type as the person in their care
~ Splash Planet offers a Mobi Chair to support visitors needing extra assistance getting in and out of the water. The Mobi Chair can be used at the Lazy River and Pirate Pool via dedicated ramps. Exciting News for Little Swimmers!

We’re thrilled to be trialling a Start to Swim class through our Swimsation programme at Flaxmere Pools for under 5 year olds. Those who are home-schooled and new to the water may also qualify, so do enquire.

🗓 When: Friday mornings
⏰ Time: 11:00am – 11:30am - Starts 13 Feb
👍 Cost: $50 / term for DSRHB members

Spaces are very limited – just 3 swimmers for this trial with our amazing skilled instructors!

Shoutout to our incredible athletes who competed at the recent Special Olympics Nationals. Looking back, what a year of success for everyone. 🥳

Here's a short rendition from Hamish and mum Stephanie, "Special Olympics Nationals was amazing. Athletes were buzzing, while coaches and managers were well and truly exhausted.

The Hawke’s Bay swim team of 12 were outstanding, bringing home 22 medals all up.

DSRHB was well represented across all sports. The four Hastings DSR boys who attend Tuesday night swim coaching with Jo did incredibly well. Every one of them achieved personal bests and returned with medals, which really shows the value of the swim coaching DSRHB offers."

As the year wraps up, we want to say a huge thank you to our incredible community - our members, whānau, supporters, sporting codes, funders, volunteers, partners, and committee. You are all champions, and 2025 has been nothing short of phenomenal because of you.

We’re heading into 2026 with excitement, with registrations now open for term one programmes.

We've got a Splash Planet fundraiser on 31 January, and an exciting session with the One NZ Warriors coming up in February - more on this in 2026.

If you’re still looking for a meaningful Christmas gift, our Friends and Family fundraiser is a great way to support our mahi and help us keep delivering inclusive sport and recreation across Hawke’s Bay.

We’ll be taking a short break and will be back on deck from 12 January. Until then, have a safe and happy festive season - and thank you for being part of the DSRHB whānau. 💙

Great job to our Term 4 hockey players! The amount of balls that Connor & Connor had to chase on our last session was significantly less compared to our firsts session.

We also learned to be careful in front of Ethan's forehand power shot!

Thank you to Connor & Connor and Hawke's Bay Hockey for providing DSRHB's first hockey programme! Your techniques, games, and drills for offensive and defensive skills made the sessions fun while also helping increase each our player's skills.

We heard our members from our survey, and we are working HB Hockey to bring back another Hockey programme in Term 4 2026, hope to see you there!

Whew! After a rocky start with weather in October, we finished strong with Adaptive Football, even spending the majority of the last session with extended scrimmaging sessions.

Shout out to the parents that snagged stray footballs or subbed in during games if a player needed a break!

Thank you Alisa and Central Football - Hawke's Bay for bringing our crew so far this term!

We are looking forward to another Adaptive Football programme in term 4 of 2026. Hope to see everyone back at it again next year!

Fantastic job to all of the competitors of 's Para-Try-athlon! 🏃🏊🚴‍♀️It was great to see such a strong representation from Kōwhai Specialist School and Te Kahu Amohia - Fairhaven School; we even spotted some of DSRHB's members competing on the day! 👀

DSRHB was happy to support this event with Napier Aquatic Centre and other organizations including Hawke's Bay and , and we look forward to helping bring this event back again in 2026!

Hope everyone trains hard, for an even stronger finish next year!

What a great group of athletes we had at No Limits Netball with ! You all got better each week and had great teamwork, no matter who who was on your team. It was always exciting to see what surprise tactic each team had worked up in order to score!

A special thank you to Coach Georgia & Coach Taryn from Hawke's Bay Netball; our players could not have done it without you!

Netball has been so great, we are bringing the netball fun to Mitre10 Park in Hastings for Term 1 2026. Be on the lookout for upcoming dates and times for netball in Term 1.

We hope to see you all back on the court soon!

What a great time we had last month for DSRHB's Waka Ama & Sailability On the Water Event with 's local club & ! The weather was perfect, and we could not have had such a great with event without the many volunteers from each club, as well as additional support from Sport Hawke's Bay, the Halberg Foundation, and .

It was great to get back out on the water with Roni and her crew, and it was a great to have our 1st event with Dennis and his crew from Sailability. Both crews did a great job getting our returning rowers and sailors another opportunity on the water as well and fully supporting our athletes who had never been on the water before this event!

We're looking forward to getting back out on the water with Waka Ama & Sailabilty in 2026!
