A little story time 🌿

Before Te Kakara Rongoā was even a thought, I was working as a pharmacy technician. I’ve always been the type of person that genuinely cares for people, so pharmacy felt natural to me. I loved learning about medicines, how the body works, and being able to help people even in small ways every day.

But at the same time, I always felt connected to the natural side of healing too. Growing up in church I knew the Lord had created the earth, plants and nature to perfection and for use.

I remember thinking one day… why do I feel like I have to choose between the two?

That’s honestly where all of this started. Late nights learning, testing blends, making balms in my own space, and wanting to create something that felt true to me. Something that carried both the knowledge I gained through pharmacy and the healing I grew up around.

Now every jar I make feels personal. It’s more than skincare to me — it’s a piece of my journey, faith, and the people who inspired me along the way🤍🌿

One of my favourite scriptures is Isaiah 61:3

“To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”

So encouraging!! There is so many ways this scripture speaks to me. Life hasn’t always been easy, but the Lord has helped me to see the beauty through it and focus on the blessings, and Christ himself 🥰

Picking kawakawa in our ngahere has been such a such a peaceful and enjoyable experience for me. With all the changes, blessings and sometimes chaos moments that come with life I know this will never get old.

Walking through the bush gives me time to breathe deep, pray hard and be filled with gratitude.
