Update on clinics. Please don't phone Taradale reception for appointments in the next 2 weeks.
I am fully booked and often double booked before I go on leave to see family and friends in Europe.
Clinics have filled fast for my return so October is first available. Stay well over winter, see you all soon. Looking forward to sharing my trip with you all. Linda x

Heads up I will be closing for winter. I have some appointments available in May, very few left for June. Then I shall be away visiting family and friends for a few months. Thank you all for your support and your good wishes for my trip. I look forward to managing your ear health for some years yet on my return.

Lets see if this works. I was interviewed by Jinice, audiologist for Hear to Thrive. Not too shabby.
HEAR to THRIVE, your go-to platform for all things related to hearing awareness and general ear health.

This hearing aid has been found at Taradale shops. Check with NZ souvenirs if you’ve lost one.

Patients tell me there are rumours I am retiring...Not yet and not in the near future.
Cecilia has spent time training and ongoing studies to become an ear nurse specialist. Which is not an over night training process. Her clinics are 2 days a week in Taradale. The feed back I am getting is that Cecilia is gentle and a lot like me (is that good or bad?!!). I am still running 4 clinics a week. 2 in Napier and 2 in Taradale.
Phoning through the Taradale system I understand has it's moments. After 11.00 is best, but anytime is good to see if theres an appointment or cancellation you can have. I will always try to get back to messages on Facebook, but can be tricky if I'm in the middle of a clinic.
Looking forward to continue our Specialist service to Hawkes Bay and surrounding areas and any visitors to our lovely city.

Akers Ear Health set out to provide a comprehensive ear health service, where best practice could be observed, patients well being maintained and ongoing treatments provided.
Where knowledge of ears was essential with the ability to link in with local GP’s, Hospital and other services when needed.
Since inception 4 years ago the service has grown to provide extensive ear health for people with basic wax production, impaction, through to infections, mastoid cavity clearance and maintenance, pre diagnoses of a variety of ear conditions that have seen patients referred to the local ENT (ear, nose and throat) service at the hospital (or private) for further treatment, diagnoses and often surgery.
To date many people have been referred to me via their GP or specialist but many have seen my local advertisement or page and just booked in to see me, with my youngest patient only 12 days old, the oldest being 105 whose smile made my day as she walked out with family telling me how well she could now hear.
My aim is to continue to serve the people of Hawkes Bay for many years to come...with some added help (yes there will be more ear nurse specialists - watch this space) along the way to allow for more clinics, more days, more hours of service.
