Wow 9 years ago in September I created this page (hika I was a tutunui, mixing and trying lots of rau, oils, essential oils, jars, infusions for a few months beforehand❣️) & after many trials and experiments with whānau me ngā hoa😍.
I came home to Te Whanganui a Ōrotu after a long wonderful journey in Te Whanganui a Tara❣️
I started a healing journey back here at home after almost losing one of my children and realising how short life is and how easily a loved one can be taken from you without rhyme or reason 🙏
On this journey I was reconnected with kawakawa, my very old friend from my childhood that my nanny often used on my tinana for the many mamae a tutunui child like myself would endure. Cuts, bites, colds, coughs, sores, boils, you name it I got it😜
So as all my own wonderful mokopuna( aged 14 to 2 years now) were growing I would see particular mamae they would endure and we'd tutu with our beautiful kawakawa and aromatherapy essential oils I'd used for 25+ years and that's how Kakara was created🙏
It's evolved over almost a decade from healing candles to healing balms, tea leaves, healing oils, Kono for all seasons, births, marenatanga, tangihanga, kaumatua, pakeke, rangatahi, pepi, mama, mamae hohipera & wananga(one per season) with beautiful Kawakawa. All with my mōkopuna, tāmariki, au, māmā & our tipuna kuia guiding this beautiful journey, as in the beginning❣️
