In light of the recent floods that have affected our community, we understand that many of our neighbours have lost valuable possessions, including their eyewear.

As a small gesture of support, our optometry branch in Napier would like to donate 200 reader frames to those in need. We hope that this donation can bring a sense of comfort and help those who have been impacted by this disaster. Please feel free to stop by our branch if you are in need of replacement frames. We are here to support our community in any way that we can.

Our branch has reopened, and we're excited to be helping our community again.

The impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle continue to be felt this morning. Our branch has had to close our doors due to the power outage. We have unfortunately not been able to contact customers about their booking cancellation. If you have booked in with us, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

We do not know when power will be back on, but we will keep you updated. Our thoughts are with those who have suffered loss during this time.

Great Scott! 🚗🔥🔥🔥 Your eyes aren't deceiving you. This is the incredibly talented Elise Tan you're look at - a top-notch optometrist with a passion for the eccentric.

We're suckers for showing off our incredible team here at - here's a little about Elise, and her top tips for good eyecare this season:

"I had my first eye test at Swain & Roberts Optometrists in 2000, studied Optometry in Auckland from 2001-2005, then worked as an Optometrist in Auckland and Wellington for 14 years, before returning to Napier and taking up the position of Optometrist at Swain & Matthews Optometrists in 2020. Along the way completing my Post-graduate Pharmacology and medicines prescribing training."

Elise's Top Tips:
"Prevent your eyes from getting dry by applying daily warm compresses with your wheat pack, to keep the oils flowing. Give your eyelids a daily scrub and eat lots of Omega 3 too".
