Movement Works based in Jervoistown, Napier is dedicated to helping you move and feel more awesome.
Our bodies are designed to move easily and well, but sometimes it doesn’t feel that way! Age, injury, bad habits and a whole host of life events can impact on our ability to move without pain or discomfort.
Here at Movement Works we engage the body AND your brain to improve your movement and improve your life.
We coach you to learn about your movement, your habits and way of doing things so you listen to your body cues in a new way.
You learn what causes you discomfort or tension and how to work around it.
You understand how to adapt yourself to your environment and energy levels.
You get curious about how to refine your everyday movement.
You discover new options to coordinate all the different moving parts.
You know when to pause and rest.
Sound good? We can write about the benefits all we like, but the best way is to experience it for yourself.
Movement Works offers a range of individual, group and workshop options.
Individual Session
These gentle, guided hands-on sessions will get you moving better and feeling better in no time, particularly if you are struggling with a situation where your movement is really restricted or painful.
Sarah acts like your personal movement detective to help you discover parts of yourself that you overuse or underuse. You learn to release tension and move with more freedom, ease and elegance.
All sessions are done fully clothed lying on a table, sitting in a chair or standing. After an initial consultation to discuss your needs and do some hands-on work, Movement Works recommends a tailored programme to suit.
Awareness Through Movement Classes
The classes do wonders to help you move better and feel more awesome.
Each lesson follows a different sequence of movements to engage your body and your brain. You learn how to release habitual discomfort and tension (especially the kind you don't even realise you are holding) and move with more ease.
Come along to improve (and maintain) your flexibility, coordination and sense of wellbeing.
