Open Floor with Hester Phillips

Open Floor with Hester Phillips Hester Phillips MA offers regular Open Floor conscious dance classes and workshops. What is Conscious Dance? Conscious dance is designed to:

Rejuvenate. When?

Hester holds an Masters in Arts Therapy (Hons) and is a professional Arts Therapist, educator and facilitator of conscious dance practices. Hester has a busy arts therapy practice and teaches weekly conscious dance classes including the newly-evolving Open Floor Movement Practice. Using conscious dance practice we do not learn to dance, but dance to learn. In a welcoming, inclusive and safe space, open to every 'body', Hester will sensitively guide and support you to explore your creative, spontaneous and free flowing movement. There is a dance (on an off the dance floor) only you can do. You'll be guided to explore this dance. When we dance our own dance we find deep renewal, inspiration and a well spring of energy. Release. There are no steps to learn or right or wrong ways to do things. You'll be guided in ways that support your spontaneity, self expression and creativity. Resource. Gentle, engaging guidance will support you to hone your abilities to meet your life on and off the dance floor with fluidity and grace. Conscious dance will resource you in a world that demands we navigate our way with nimbleness, calm and the heart of a dancer. Hester will blend stirring music with clear guidance to inspire wild dances and tender ones, connections between dancers and solo time. The invitation is to come just as you are, and join others doing the same right alongside you. Open Floor Sunday
