Yin Yoga is a profound, meditative practice that uses long-held postures and is done in stillness, using breath & mindfulness to soften the muscles to focus primarily on the connective tissues – the joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia.

Build purposeful, intentional morning & evening practices that encourage you to disengage your brain from problem-solving & looping into memories.

Research shows that thoughts & moods feed off each other, with the effect of undermining wellbeing when the body becomes involved. So imagine how fear, anxiety & stress can exhaust an immune system by overproducing neurotransmitters/hormones like adrenaline & cortisol.

"Sometimes we encounter experiences that violate our sense of safety, order, predictability, that we feel utterly overwhelmed - unable to integrate and simply unable to go on as before. Unable to bear reality. We have come to call these shattering experiences trauma. None of us is immune to the

• white space • is where we can gather and draw from a collective wellspring then move out into the world again.

Its an online sanctuary from a relentless world. Classes, circles & space that have as their foundation, kindness, wisdom, deep listening, neutrality & understanding. Ways to support each other beyond the now.

We begin with a • white space • circle, open to all. Cost is koha/donation. Details released Tuesday morning.

A typical circle may look like this,

Arrive - settle & belong

Ground - body scan | mindfulness | silence

Speak - where are you now in time & space?

Wisdom - A simple Calm Body • Calm Mind practice whose intention is to sustain you through these relentless times.

Depart - earthed & intentional.

Further details will be on the website tomorrow 💚

Who is holding safe space for the emotional & mental wellbeing in your community/country right now? A question I’ve been asking of others in these relentless times. The answer without exception is “No one we can easily access”

And that concerns me. As a nation we are experiencing loss, trauma, fatigue, ruptures in the fabric of our world views & anxiety on a daily basis.

In some cases a loss that has no language, feels so intangible, hard to pinpoint, yet feels so real. This is called ambiguous loss.

“Ambiguous loss theory conceives of a loss that is both unclear yet traumatic: it can be physically absent but psychologically present; alternatively, it can be psychologically absent while physically present”

It has the effect of triggering & amplifying over & again a nervous system into anxiety.

It's that low hum of emotion that has no discernible logical reason, the quick to the anger response to a low gradient situation.

Which is why I'm offering space. I am speaking of a neutral space where you can rest, restore and soothe an amplified nervous system.

A place where your confusion and loss of embodied understanding about the world is heard and held without agenda.

On Monday I'm launching • White Space • A weekly online place to gather yourself, to draw from a collective wellspring and move out into the world again.

What this is not, is therapy.

I'm responding quickly to what I am seeing & hearing which is why more details are coming.

But for now. Do let me know how I can help.

With great love, Carol

Silence is becoming a desire, a want in this noisy world. Other than shutting the door on everything & everyone and snatching small moments, how else can you sink deeply into a held space and be nothing to anyone?

Through our stories we unravel. Through our stories we transform.

We all have stories. Some we tell, some folded into tiny spaces hidden within ourselves.

When you come to the mat with an intentional practice, and I'm not talking about being able to balance on your head, or being able to manipulate your body into a shape.

I'm speaking of an intention to discover what lies within yourself. Where you can unfold and release the hidden stories tucked away in your body.

Your yoga practice can be more than just getting your heels to the floor in down dog.

Reflecting, deeply listening, using asanas to catch the whispers of feelings & sensations is a deeper practice of yoga.

My invitation for you is to write the whispers into reality. In your meditation watch, observe, identify, feel then reflect & write.

Trust that your body knows which story is waiting to emerge. Greet it with compassion, tend & befriend, practice kindness so it can emerge & transform into wisdom.

great love to you, Carol x
