At the end of August, Coastal View residents and staff braved the rain to take part in the special planting of a pōhutukawa tree. Despite the weather, the moment was filled with warmth and meaning. Just as the tree’s roots will grow deeper and its branches spread wider, so too will the connections, friendships, and shared experiences that continue to flourish at Coastal View. 🌺

The pōhutukawa stands as a symbol of strength, resilience, and the enduring beauty of Aotearoa’s coastline. A plaque was placed beside the tree, inscribed with the whakataukī: “He aroha whakatō, he aroha p**a mai” — If kindness is sown, then kindness you shall receive.

Residents at Coastal View took part in a fun and engaging poolside activity, operating remote-controlled underwater robots. The event featured AquaBots, a STEM-based programme originally designed for schoolchildren incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics completing real-world learning experiences. Using pre-assembled robots, participants navigated obstacle courses and retrieved sunken objects. Perseverance ensured success.

The competition was lively, the questions kept us guessing, and the laughs didn’t stop! Coastal residents had a brilliant time at Qestral’s Annual Charity Quiz — a fun evening packed with a shared purpose of supporting the Westpac Chopper Appeal, our chosen charity for 2025.

Residents recently enjoyed an impressive demonstration of the Thermomix in the Yacht Club — a trending, all-in-one kitchen appliance capable of cooking, boiling, simmering, chopping, kneading, whisking, and more. 👩‍🍳

Despite the rain, the grand opening of our spectacular new Yacht Club was a glowing success! Guests were treated to champagne, vibrant entertainment, and a night full of warmth, laughter, and celebration.

From silver-winged performers to beautifully lit spaces and nautical flair, every detail of the evening shone. Residents and guests mingled and made memories in a setting designed for both elegance and comfort.
