Just back from The Power of REST retreat and my heart is full. 💗🌿✨

Facilitated by two absolutely incredible humans and yogis Deb & Nicola, this weekend was such a gift.

I pulled a card at the start that spoke of giving and receiving — a message I clearly needed to hear. As a mother, partner, therapist (and general giver in life!), I realised just how important it was to truly receive.

And receive I did…
Nourishing yoga
Soulful workshops
A massage gifted with such love (thank you Sandy!)
Delicious, wholesome food
Most of all the deep connection with a beautiful community of like-minded souls

I feel so nourished, nurtured, and loved.

Oh — and the outdoor bath under the stars? Next level amazing 💫

So much gratitude.

“Mum, mum, mum… she is beautiful, she is beautiful.”
This morning, my sweet Vinnie sang these words to me — unprompted, straight from his heart.
He filled our home with love, laughter, and the purest kind of music.
Tears of joy, gratitude, and deep, deep love.
I am so, so blessed to be his mama. 💛✨

Name What’s Here
Pause. Feel. Gently name what’s present.
“I feel tired.” “I notice tension.” “There’s a little hope.”
Naming our emotions — without judging them — helps us honour what’s real and meet it with compassion.

Humming Bee Breath (Bhramari)
🐝 A sound-based breath to soothe and ground.
Practice to this beautiful song 🎶

How to Practice:

Sit upright with eyes gently closed.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale while softly humming (like the sound of a bee), keeping lips closed.
Feel the vibration in your face, throat, and chest.
Repeat 5–7 rounds.
Rest with normal breathing afterward.
Vibrations calm the vagus nerve, releasing tension and anxiety.

Balance is not about perfection — it’s about listening and honouring what you need without losing yourself.

Legs Up the Wall
A quiet pose. A powerful pause.
Legs up the wall is a simple way to signal safety to your nervous system.
Let gravity do the work while you soften, breathe, and just be.
Legs Up the Wall: A Restorative Reset
This deeply calming pose helps soothe the nervous system, reduce swelling in the legs, and invite the body into rest and digest mode. It’s like giving yourself permission to pause — without needing to do anything perfectly.

How to Practice:
1. Find a wall (or the edge of your bed or couch).
2. Lie down on your side, hips close to the wall.
3. Gently roll onto your back, sweeping your legs up the wall.
4. Adjust as needed — hips can be close to or a little away from the wall depending on what feels good.
5. Support your head or hips with cushions or a folded blanket if you’d like.
6. Rest your arms by your sides, on your belly, or over your heart.
7. Close your eyes (or soften your gaze), and just breathe.
Start with 5–10 minutes. Stay longer if it feels supportive.

Little winter bugs have made their way to Stepping Stones. ❄️🤧

It’s given me ample opportunity to practice what I preach — especially when the guilt creeps in about not being able to show up for my beautiful individual clients. When that old familiar inner critic pipes up, I pause and ask myself:
“What would I tell one of them?”

✨ Rest.
✨ Nurture yourself.
✨ You are not letting anyone down by taking care of your body.

So today, it’s a day in bed to rest this croaky voice, sipping warm cacao, and soaking in the care that surrounds me.

Big love to my husband for his famous honey and lemon drinks, and to my son — truly one of the kindest, most compassionate souls to walk this earth. 💛

This is healing.
This is enough.
