Join us at the Positive Ageing Expo this Saturday, 21st March between 10.00am and 2.00pm at the Headingly Centre in Richmond.
Please note the new entry to the Centre is via Saltmarsh Lane off Estuary Place. Alternatively, a shuttle bus will be running between the Expo at Headingly Centre and the Richmond Interchange on Queen Street.

Alzheimers Nelson Tasman will be holding our annual Memory Walk in Isel Park, Stoke on Saturday, 20th September 2025. This Memory Walk is for people of all ages and abilities and is a way to raise awareness of the growing incidence of dementia in our community and to recognise those families touched by and living with dementia. Join us at 11am outside St. Barnabas Church, Stoke as we walk through Isel Park to remember those that cannot. Afterwards, enjoy some refreshments (scones, tea/coffee) which will be available for purchase (cash only).

Our Story

Alzheimers Nelson Tasman offers support, advocacy and education for people with dementia and/or their primary carer and extended family/whanau in Nelson, Tasman and into Golden Bay area. Our staff advise and support people over the phone, through home visits or in groups. We also inform people of services they may be eligible for and help them access relevant support.

Our Team

Dementia Advisors: Heather Lackner covers Richmond/Wakefield Mapua/Motueka and Golden Bay. Heather is our Manager and educator who provides training for our volunteers as well as family carers and community/residential based carers; Heather also is available to give talks to community-based organizations e.g. Probus groups. Sue Cochrane is our full time Dementia Advisor who covers Atawhai/ Nelson/ Tahunanui and Stoke. Sue oversees the WandaTrak pendants and facilitates our Early Memory Loss programme.

Administration and Communications: Lindsay Neumann has the role of funding and communications which supports our Dementia advisors
