How did you wake up today? Hitting snooze or feeling excited about life? My little one was on a sleepover so I took the opportunity to make a sunrise jog which was spectacular. But it hasn’t always been that way. If you’re looking for health cultivation tools or have a complex health issue you’re trying to navigate, I can help you find your way. Here's to celebrating wins!

Last year I was involved in a lengthy process to secure funding for treatment of PTSD with acupuncture for a client of mine with a large health insurance provider.

This involved a detailed collaboration between myself, my professional body and the family representative of my client. It included presenting reports and evidence in front of a legal tribunal hearing. We were overjoyed to hear in late December that we had WON!

The reason that I share this here is to spread the word that acupuncture is of great therapeutic assistance for many conditions that you might not be aware of - such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in this case.

I also work deeply with women's health issues, functional illnesses and complex, chronic diseases for example. I have decades of experience and certified training to ensure my treatments and advice are safe, relevant and of real benefit.

Please feel free to reach out to find out more.

Recently I have been reflecting a lot about transitions and changes. Seasons and cycles. They can be jarring and sudden or more gradual or painfully drawn out.

We have little control on many changes and they are an inevitable part of life. We can only control how we respond. My experience is that even the most tragic events are incredible opportunities for self-development – if you can bear it.

Sometimes we need to put a few things down in order to attend to them compassionately and to fully comprehend and embody the transition.

Here I stood in this photo 14 years ago after a year of building and transitioning into my acupuncture practice in New Plymouth. Fully leaving the safety net of full time employment and into the uncertainty that comes with starting a business.

A pause to enjoy and reflect on how far I had come. Blissfully unaware of all the transitions and changes I would face over the coming years. My practice would include hosting retreats in Austria and volunteering in Kenya, alongside running a private practice for a year. Before returning once again to New Zealand to transition from maiden to mother.

The past 7 years of growing my practice and sole parenting has been joyous, but at times an exercise of grit, patience and resilience. I have earned my silver hair

A couple of weeks ago I transitioned through a year of training which takes my understanding of complex and chronic disease to new levels. I am now starting my second year of intensive mentorship with the clever and wise Mel Hopper Koppelman at Synthesis Health ProLab and will now be offering my clients the opportunity to work with me at a deeper level than before.

If you feel inspired to improve your health in lasting ways. Feel free to reach out. I only have the capacity to take on a few clients at a time in this new approach.

Happy New Year! What a difference a year makes. Hope you've found some space to celebrate your wins and reflect on those things you might like to change?

This past weekend we celebrated my little one completing her first 5km fun run. The event that rekindled my spark to run a marathon. Always grateful to Mick McBeth and the awesome team at Body Logic for that gentle nudge.

Online booking now available for both locations - Body Logic Tues, Weds and Bishop Road Thurs, Fri.

Looking forward to working with you to improve your health and well being.

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a refreshing break and managed to switch off a little. I have spent more time away than expected this year, but I am back in clinic this week on slightly reduced hours. Then back to usual hours next week.

For those of you that I unfortunately had to reschedule or cancel in the weeks before Christmas, you will be happy to know that my little one is doing so much better now we have something of a diagnosis since Christmas Eve. We have spent a lot of time in nature and that has been very healing.

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon 🌷

Spring Equinox is approaching and I just popped into the garden to breathe a little and found this precious one - the pure embodiment of Spring!

For me this particular change of season has been potent. Letting go of past things to make space for the new has been quite a ride. This weekend we will make time to celebrate new beginnings. And to smell the sweet scent of blossom.

Next week, I'm only available mornings in order to make time for the most important person in my life to take her time to adjust to some of the changes.

Following week, please feel invited to book your space with me to refresh and revitalise.

This magnificent Winter sunset on Friday evening reminded me that as we move towards Winter Solstice, it is the perfect time for inward reflection, rest and restoration.

Water is the element that corresponds to Winter and points us to that dark, quiet pool within ourselves where our essential self identity resides.

Pause now and gather strength. It is the seedbed of all life.

If you feel like your reserves are running a little low, now is an ideal time to book a deeply nourishing session with me.

Ps. the website has been updated and there will be some new things coming in Spring! Thank you Calm Sea VA aka Hannah Evans

Who is also ready to turn inward now as the clocks have been wound back? Here we've been repainting the exterior of the house and clinic, overhauling the garden and working through post-graduate training in paediatric acupuncture (yes, I not only help you get pregnant, but I will help take care of your little ones) 👶

If you hadn't already noticed the changing of season, you certainly do now ... how are the energy levels after that bright and busy Summer? Now is the perfect time to tend to your garden and book a replenishing, restorative session with me.

Late Summer ... the 5th season in TCM theory which is resonant with the Earth element. Abundance is everywhere. It's harvest time. Nature is taking a rest and enjoying the last of the long, warm, lazy days before we transition into Autumn.....

Check in with yourself: How solid on the ground are you feeling today? Are you feeling in balance with your true inner essence? Are you content with the growth you made during Spring and Summer? Or are you worrying about things? Has pain or inflammation flared up?

If you feel a little burnt out from a busy Summer or need a helping hand to work on those New Year resolutions, now is a perfect time to book a nourishing and balancing session with me.
