With Aotearoa now having many confirmed cases of Measles and locations of interest, including in Taranaki, please protect yourself and your whānau by getting vaccinated if you haven’t already.

To make it easy, you can come along to our drop-in clinic in Ngāmotu or Waitara this Saturday 1 November to get immunised - no appointment needed!

Measles is one of the most infectious diseases known, infecting children as well as adults via droplets carried in the air from someone infected. The virus can remain infectious in the air for up to two hours!

Measles is so contagious – that anyone exposed to measles who is not immune through vaccination or previous infection is about 90% likely to become infected.

The good news is - if you’re immune, you’re protected!

Get in touch with us on 0800 TUI ORA to have a kōrero if you have any pātai!

🌡Please be aware and seek help if needed.

🌡Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that can cause serious health complications. Symptoms typically begin with a high fever (over 38C), cough, runny nose, and sore red eyes, followed by a rash that starts on the face and spreads down the body.

Several of the current infections are linked to an exposure event on the Bluebridge Ferry on October 3.

🤦‍♀️ It's ironic that we are posting about World Menopause Day a day late, as brain fog can be a real thing during this transition time.

🧐 The main focus for World Menopause Day 2025 on October 18th is Lifestyle Medicine and how lifestyle choices such as healthy eating, physical activity, sleep, and mental wellbeing can support health and ease symptoms during menopause.

🌺 Menopause and peri-menopause can cause a raft of symptoms throughout the whole body and there is not a one size fits all approach. Getting your hormones back via body-identical hormone replacement can dramatically improve the lives of many women.

🌼 This comes in many forms such as patches, gels, creams, capsules, and pessaries. Our team are happy to discuss the many options available via prescription and also discuss supplements like Magnesium and Vitamin D that can be another tool to provide support.

😍 Embrace the journey, find your strength and seek support and information so you are empowered to advocate for yourself.

Meet Anne, our Hospice Pharmacist...
When it comes to caring for people at home, sometimes it’s the little things that bring the most peace of mind. For many whānau, medications can feel overwhelming — what to take, when to take it, and what to do with the ones no longer needed.
That’s where Anne, our pharmacist, makes such a difference.
Anne visits patients in their homes, checking that medications are safe, up to date, and easy to understand. She gently guides people, answering questions and making sure everyone feels confident about what they’re taking.
She can also remove medications that are no longer required, ensuring they are safely disposed of — one less worry for patients and their families.
Anne’s calm presence and clear advice help lift a weight from people’s shoulders, leaving more room for what matters most: spending precious time together.
