It is with a full heart and a feeling of deep privilege we bring you The Wintering Retreat.

With reverence for rest we invite you to join us for a 3 night retreat at the incredible Kula, in Muriwai. This location is breathtaking; envision views of the ocean, serene rolling green hillsides, incredible architecture, five star accommodation, functional shared spaces, sauna and ice bath, a stunning high stud Yoga Shala and nourishing catering.

What makes this retreat extra special?
June marks the tenth birthday of REVA and we wanted to celebrate with our clients, friends and community alongside three of our most experienced facilitators, .m.mason , and šŸ¤Ž

This retreat is intended to honour the inner Winter at a time where we would traditionally seek warmer locations. We embrace this season in all its glory and embrace each other at a time where slowing down and taking pause feels to be a great luxury.

Retreat Arrival Thursday 18th June from 3pm
Dinner served 7pm

Retreat Departure Sunday 21st of June before 5pm

Retreat attendees may choose to fly to Auckland and take the short commute to Muriwai or make a road trip with other students.

All meals and snacks beautifully catered by FORK catering.

Retreat schedule includes two daily practices, 8am Flow with Live DJ and a gentle Yin late afternoon.

Over the course of the three day retreat we will also enjoy Breathwork, Somatic Dance, Cacao ceremony, Tarot and guided journalling. We will have space throughout the weekend for attendees to enjoy massage therapy, reiki and Sauna/ice baths on site, to take naps or connect with others in the sprawling living spaces.

We are strictly limited to 15 attendees on this retreat due to Kula’s capacity, be sure to reserve your space to avoid disappointment.

These past few days I have been reflecting on what it means to be grounded. Perhaps our traditional understanding of grounding is no longer relevant in this version of reality.

As I was teaching the theory of Shunyata (a Buddhist concept of groundlessness) yesterday, after shocks from the Tongan earthquake rolled through the studio. A serendipitous moment reminding all of us that nothing is in fact stable.

Over the past ten years in both business and my personal life I have navigated many ā€˜crises’. We all have. It feels as though crises are akin to ā€˜normal everyday life’. This redefining is both unsettling and exhausting. Many conversations with clients and friends this week have centred around fatigue, ongoing stress, uncertainty and sprinklings of resentment. Why should this impact us? When will it end? How come it’s not like it used to be? What do we do if it all falls over?
I feel it too, at times it manifests as pressure on my chest, other times it’s a headiness or an itch.

It’s always an interesting juxtaposition teaching through these times, holding candles for others while simultaneously breathing through your own anxiety. There is this moment in class, shortly after the greetings, musings, sharings and pranayama where the room settles together. A collective calm arrives, as a facilitator I too am a recipient of it’s orb. In that moment the practice carries us to a place where we need not have all the answers, where we can be at peace with our fears and we can fumble with gentle presence. Slowly we expand into the field beyond this world, where we do not need to cling to anything fixed but rather embrace the fluid concept that everything lacks inherent existence. In that place we have nothing to lose, just unlimited potentiality to experience when the projections dissolve. It is something quite special.

Our Yoga serves us well when we meet unanswerable questions. Our Yoga serves us well when the world changes faster than our mind can comprehend. Our Yoga serves us well when the systems that were built to ā€˜support’ us disintegrate.

If you need us during these times, we’ll be here, just practicing our Yoga šŸ¤Ž

Yasi šŸ¤Ž

Three years ago this beautiful human being wandered up the stairs, she had just moved to New Plymouth from Malaysia with her husband. Blessed are we that she arrived with a golden aura, the sweetest laugh and the kindest heart there ever was. There are few in this world quite like Yasi. Many of you have come to know and adore Yasi for her thoughtful sequencing, wild challenges, remarkable practice and more importantly the care she gives to each and every student in her classes.

We have all learnt a great deal from Yasi, whether it be through guided movement, her mindful wisdom or the healing arts of sound bath. Many of us have also learnt about Yasi’s upbringing and life as an Iranian woman born and raised under the regime now at the centre of world conflict.

Thank you Yasi for helping us to understand what so few here on the ground in New Zealand can comprehend. You are an inspiration to us and to your hundreds of thousands of Iranian Yogini followers. You are a fierce advocate for women, a flag bearer of hope and someone who radiates love. I know that you claiming your authenticity and empowering others to do the same has come at a high cost to you, including the inability for you to return home to Iran. I’m so proud and in awe of your bravery.

Next month we farewell Yasi as she moves to Hamilton to be with her husband for a big progression in his career. Our heart hurts saying goodbye and we know yours does not leave lightly either. We hope you return for workshops, retreats, teacher trainings and to just call in and update us of your life’s adventures, because you truly are part of our REVA family.

Do make sure you make the most of Yasi’s last few weeks of lunchtime flows, give her a cuddle and express your gratitude for all the gifts she has shared with us🫶

We are going to miss you our dear friend xx

International Womens Day landed on the final day of YTT Module One over the weekend. We spent Sunday singing seed sounds, bathing in crystal bowls, laughing, sharing our her-stories and connecting over a love of this spiritual path. It was a beautiful reminder of what happens when women come together in sisterhood and support each other.

I could talk about many things when it comes to a day that celebrates women but ultimately I wanted to take a moment to thank the women in this Community who show up to share their wisdom with our people. Not only are these women powerful space holders, they are also Mothers, Lovers, Doctors, Teachers, Students, Healers, Influencers, Scientists, Physiotherapists, Facilitators, Physiologists, Coaches, Marketing Directors, Project Managers, Parent Helpers, Home Keepers and Body Workers.

They are the joy, the magic and the motivation. They are the presence helping you feel seen, heard and touched by life. They wear many hats, they hold a great deal in their hearts and their hands are often full with the many bags carried for those they care for. They are the team that fills this space with grace, divine strength and a unique resilience that comes from being in their feminine.

So here’s to them. Whatever their background, whatever their story and whatever else they have going on in life, they show up and choose to be here for our students at REVA ā™„ļø
We couldn’t be luckier!

The world’s changing, much is being lost in this age of Narcissism. It seems we forgot what humanity is, self interest and personal gain have replaced understanding. I didn’t think I’d see it my lifetime, not after what our ancestors lived through. And yet missiles rain, chess is played with children’s lives and the profits of war perpetuate more harm. The reality is it was always going to happen because the ā€˜Ego’ will continually seek to perpetuate its own meek existence. It is the small self interested only in power, control and the projection of itself.

Sadness sits heavily at present. There’s something about carrying a child in your womb and looking outward at the world wondering what the next generation will be left with?
I refuse to despair and yet I feel so very constrained.

I only have agency over myself. So in times like this… I practice and I pray, I ground into the philosophy that underpins my life, my mission and ultimately this community. That is Yogic Philosophy. A simple and yet ancient system for approaching ones relationship with self, with others and with the world. On occasion I wonder if more of us sat in meditation, met a Yoga mat, saw the real person behind the eyes of our neighbour whether we would continue to relive the patterns of the past. Whether the exploration of the soul self would save us from our own demise.

I am resting my hand on belly reminding myself and the little one I carry, that there is hope. There is another way. There is a space where we are all equals, where our differences are not grounds for war but collaboration, where winning doesn’t mean someone else has to lose. That space is in the heart.

Keep yours soft, even when the world is lead by those who no longer have one.

Their ego having facilitated their own dismemberment, so they can decree the blood shed of people just like you or willingly watch on like a stone statue.

Join at REVA for the first of three multilayered community gatherings aligned with the Water Signs New Moon’s of 2026 – Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio.

These astrological moments, where the moon is at its darkest illumination, bring themes of renewal, surrender, and spiritual attunement. March’s Pisces New Moon is associated with emotional cleansing, intuition, and dreamlike reflection.

You’ll enjoy a restorative evening, blending the grounding and heart opening properties of cacao with Japanese and modern healing techniques, astrological themes and yogic practices.

Your ceremony begins with a Cacao and Intention Setting ritual. Then, dive deeper with guided Journalling and Oracle card insights. To close, float into a Reiki-Infused Ocean Sound Journey, including Ocean Drum, Crystal and Tibetan Singing Bowls, Bells and Chimes.

Iris grew up in Taranaki and moved to Auckland in 2020 to open ASCEND Aerial Yoga. She now owns The Healing Room and teaches at boutique wellness studios across Auckland, such as Kenko, Sala, and Redroom. Her work as a Reiki Master and Yogic Guide, is rooted in intuition, intention, and creative depth. Each experience is richly immersive and engages all the senses to support clarity, relaxation, and balance. Iris believes in a woven tapestry of ancient practices, honoured and made accessible for the modern world.

Iris is deeply moved to be back home for this New Moon event series at REVA, where she attended her first ever connection circle back in 2019.

We are thrilled to welcome Samantha Parker to our REVA whanaušŸ™Œ

Some of you may recognise Sam from her local teachings by the ocean.

A little note from Sam🫶

Kia Ora REVA Community,

Ko Sam tōku ingoa. I first came to yoga with the drive of a dancer — drawn to flow and creativity. Over time, that drive softened, and my practice began to mirror life’s many seasons. As life grew louder, time on the mat became quieter. Yoga became an anchor: a place to return to for grounding, clarity, and strength.

Over the years, yoga has shifted from something I ā€œdoā€ to a lens through which I experience life — a steady, familiar container for witnessing and processing change.

Teaching has become its own deeply meaningful practice, rooted in continual learning and a genuine love of sharing yoga. It has become a space where I thoughtfully weave my learning of te ao Māori alongside yoga’s Sanskrit roots, exploring how these lineages can coexist and support one another.

I aim to create spaces where movement is explored with curiosity, laughter is welcome, and showing up as you are is enough. I still wobble in balancing asanas and continue to learn through my own movement — I believe in a wonderfully imperfect, curious practice where movement facilitates presence.

I’m so grateful to be joining your whānau of students and teachers. The community you’ve all co-created is beautiful, and I look forward to practicing with you. šŸ¤Ž

Here it is … Our expanded 2026 schedule ✨

Launch date is next Monday 23rd of February and all classes are available now in the REVA Yoga app or online for bookings. The great news is, as these classes fill we have more in the pipeline too, including lunchtime reformer.

Ten years ago I opened our doors with 12 Yoga mats, 24 blocks and I taught the full schedule of ten classes a week by myself. Ten rotations around the sun and my eyes and heart cant quite comprehend what REVA has become. Watching the evolution of this space, this community and most importantly the team that makes it all possible has been one of life’s greatest gifts. We are on our way to 55 classes a week, a talented teaching faculty of 16 and a variety of offerings that we are beyond proud of.

We are only here because of you, our incredible client base, who continue to devote time and energy to your practice and self growth. Your commitment challenges us to grow and we are in awe of that synergy. There really is a whole ecosystem inside these walls.

REVA is about real movement, for real people, by real people and what we have witnessed over the years is that’s where the real healing happensā™„ļø

Thank you being here for all of that xx

Written for the little one inside who thought she needed to be palatable and perfectly packaged. The one who only ever wanted to be herself, who despite what the world told her of womanhood - discovered the truth through practice.
