Inner peace is one of the most powerful solutions to both personal and social conflict. It should be practised daily, as naturally and consistently as eating and drinking. May all be safe and sound.

Making room for relaxation in our daily routine can noticeably improve our sense of wellbeing. In time, it often helps us feel more energetic, alert, and emotionally balanced.

Here are some simple tips for skilful relaxation:

1. Breathing meditation
Slow, deep and comfortable breathing is our constant ally. Try practising for about 60 seconds each hour during the day, whenever possible.

2. Exercise regularly
Working up a gentle sweat about three times a week can help release built-up tension and negative feelings. Start today with any activity you enjoy — walking, swimming, cycling, or sport.

3. Yoga or slow body movement
This is a form of mindfulness that reduces mental wandering and brings attention to each movement of the body. For many people, six rounds of Sun Salutation in the morning or before a shower can be very effective.

4. Enjoy music
As the saying goes, “Music is the language of emotion.” Music often reflects and soothes our feelings, and has supported people from all walks of life for generations.

5. Talk with a close friend
Sharing openly with a trusted friend or small group can significantly relieve stress. Psychologists often recommend this approach to help cope with anxiety, low mood, and related challenges.
