In every class, I love diffusing essential oils - I love tapping into the sense of smell and the way it can shift how we feel within ourselves.

Each day I choose an oil intuitively. I’ll hold the bottles, see which one calls to me… sometimes I just know.
Today it was Bergamot šŸŠ

It wasn’t until I was leaving the studio tonight that I opened my little book of wisdom and smiled at the synchronicity.
Bergamot represents courage - it awakens the soul to hope and offers courage to share the inner self šŸ’«šŸŒæ

And tonight’s Yin & Breath theme? The Hero’s Journey.
Recognising when we’ve drifted out of alignment and finding the strength to change direction - to stop living passively and rise to meet life as the hero of our own story.

This whole term has been about reconnecting with joy, and it’s moments like this that remind me…when we choose courage, when we realign with truth, joy naturally follows.

So I’ll leave you with this…
✨ What’s whispering to you that’s out of alignment?
✨ What’s no longer resonating… a job, a relationship…this old version of yourself?

Have you got the courage, can you be brave, just like the hero in the journey?
It’s uncomfortable, but imagine living the most aligned, joyful version of yourself šŸ’š

I’ve been reflecting a lot on this term’s theme of Joy, and interestingly, my practice has shifted.

My body hasn’t wanted Pilates lately, instead it’s been craving gentle yoga.

Soft flows, slow stretches, mindful breathing.

There’s a wiseness in this… learning to listen to what my body and soul need, not what my ego wants or demands.

It’s ok to change. It’s ok to acknowledge that our bodies vary in what they need and want. We don’t have to do the same thing all the time. We are these beautiful, organic pieces of nature, and we need to honour that, and remember that.

I've found myself lately getting caught up in comparison. Looking at what others are doing and thinking, ā€œI’m not good enough… I don’t have decades of experience… maybe I shouldn’t put myself out there.ā€

But here’s the truth - I’m not like anyone else. And I don’t need to be.

I didn’t get into yoga, breathwork, and Pilates to become an ā€œexpertā€, I got into them to heal me. To find ways through my own health challenges, both physical and mental. These practices helped me breathe easier, move with more ease and less pain, and soften the anxious patterns that had built up over years. They brought me back home to myself.

And that’s what I now share. Not from a textbook, not from decades in a studio, but from lived experience. My life experience is my main qualification. And that’s what I bring forth.

A friend reminded me in the weekend that I don’t have to do it like anyone else. I can do what I like. I can blend everything I’ve learned in a way that feels true to me, and offer it in a way that might be exactly what someone else needs right now.

So this is me… choosing to stop comparing, choosing to be okay with being me, and sharing from that place. Because I believe that’s where the real connection and healing happens.

Hi Everyone šŸ¤—

ā˜€ļø New Term is nearly here! ā˜€ļø

Over the next few days, I’ll be introducing the different classes and offerings for this term.

First up: Yin & Breath... and this term’s theme is JOY

Each class begins with a guided breath flow to calm the mind and reconnect with presence, followed by yin yoga - where we stretch deeply and hold poses for 3-5 minutes to release tension and restore balance. You’ll leave feeling grounded, lighter, and uplifted.

Starting week of the 6th October:

-Tuesdays Otematata
-Wednesdays Omarama
