Time poor but ready to change your life? You don’t have to do it alone.
Join me this April for a fully hosted seven-day trip to San Diego, travelling across the border for bariatric surgery, then recovering back in San Diego.
Package price: $5,099 NZD plus surgery
No hidden extras. No surprises.
You’ll be in the care of a fully qualified bariatric surgeon who has completed over 2,000 procedures. Low pricing does not mean low quality, it means smart planning and trusted providers.

I took over 60 people last year alone. You’re welcome to ask them about their experience.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time, this could be it.
Message me to find out if this April group is right for you.

It’s honestly unbelievable what six months can do. The weight loss is phenomenal, but even more powerful is what you can’t see on the scales — the time added back to your life, the freedom in your body, and the health gains that will keep rewarding you for years to come.

This isn’t just about losing weight. It’s about gaining energy, mobility, confidence, and a future that feels wide open again. Six months ago, you made a decision — and today you’re living the proof of what choosing yourself can change.

So good being on tour with a great friend. Having Hope Horsley alongside me with our fabulous group of 12 has been an absolute treat. Everyone has now had their surgery — all very successful — and we’ve got a whole lot of very happy people.

Today we were even lucky enough to be invited into the operating theatre to observe a surgery, which was pretty special. Watching our bariatric surgeon at work really just reinforced why he’s so well regarded. His precision and attention to detail are next level, and there’s a reason he’s considered one of the top bariatric surgeons in Tijuana.

I work all over the world in medical tourism and I’ve done my homework — and then some — and days like today remind me that we really do have the right mix of medical expertise and an outstanding support team here.

With everyone settled and well looked after at the hospital, Hope and I could finally relax and enjoy a well-earned latte We’ve just popped out for a bite to eat and will head back up to the hospital again this evening.

A couple more days in Mexico, then it’s off to San Diego for a three-day chill-out, followed by Santa Monica, and then home to New Zealand. Feeling grateful, relaxed, and pretty proud of this incredible team.

Hope’s in full elf mode, busy wrapping all the token gifts we’ve brought over from New Zealand — first for the eight surgeons and their teams, then of course the nursing crew and the hotel legends who look after us so well.

Honestly, every time we arrive it feels like Christmas has come early. A bit of Kiwi love, a lot of gratitude, and plenty of smiles all round.

First day of the liquid diet for the crew — and here we are, Hope and I, camped out and waiting for our second group to arrive for the seven-day no-frills tour. Spirits are high, blenders are buzzing, and everyone’s officially taken that first brave step.

Tomorrow morning it’s an early start, with the whole group heading off to Mexico at 6:30am sharp. One suitcase, one shake, one very early alarm — and one big step towards a healthier future. Let the adventure begin.

Arrived yesterday, Sunday, and like all good shoppers we went straight from hotel to the airport to the Anaheim outlet mall. Priorities sorted. Then it was back for a well-earned cuppa, followed by a gentle walk up to Disney Village, before retreating to the hot tub.

After flying overnight it made for a very long day, and I don’t think anyone made it past 9.30pm — absolutely shattered but happy.

Back in April last year I had the most lovely trip over to San Diego and Tijuana, and that’s where I met Becky from Te Awamutu. Fast-forward not even a year and honestly… wow. She looks absolutely stunning. The change is incredible, but what I love most is how confident and happy she looks now. Same Becky, just with a whole lot more sparkle. It’s so special getting to watch these journeys unfold.

The Comeback Tour (For Your Hair)

It must be that time of year when not just the men, but the women too, start looking in the mirror and thinking, “Hang on… when did my hair get so thin?” I’ve had quite an influx of enquiries lately about hair transplants, so you’re certainly not alone.

Even my son, who works on the mines in Western Australia, says it’s become one of the most talked-about procedures over there — right up there with teeth and knees! So this should give you a rough idea of just how common it’s become.

With that in mind, the information below will give you a general guide, just to help you get a feel for what might be involved.
The procedures are performed in a fully accredited hospital environment rather than a stand-alone clinic, which many clients find reassuring. In India, the cost of a hair transplant is based on the number of follicles required. As a general guide, around 3,000 follicles costs approximately NZD 3,000, plus Indian GST at 18%. The exact number of follicles needed is assessed individually by the board nurse and surgeon, as it depends on the size of the area and the density required.

To give you a rough idea:
• A small bald spot or thinning crown might require around 1,500–2,000 follicles
• A receding hairline is often in the range of 2,000–2,500 follicles
• A larger area, such as a more advanced receding hairline combined with frontal thinning, is commonly around 3,000 follicles
• As a visual guide, about 3,000 follicles would roughly cover an area about the size of the palm of your hand, depending on hair characteristics and desired density

Ultimately, the final number is determined after assessment, as everyone’s hair loss pattern and expectations are different.

Time required
A hair transplant is usually done as a day procedure. The length of time depends on the number of follicles being transplanted, but as a general guide:
• Small procedures may take 4–5 hours
• Medium procedures are usually 6–8 hours
• Larger sessions (around 3,000 follicles or more) can take most of the day

You are awake during the procedure, with local anaesthetic used, and you return to your hotel the same day.

Merry Christmas to all my wonderful Bums, Tums & Gums people.

What a year. Big decisions, brave choices, nervous flights, healing bodies, new smiles, stronger steps, and a lot of trust placed in me. I never take that lightly. What we do together is serious stuff, but we’ve still managed to laugh, swear, cry, celebrate, and carry each other through.

Thank you for being such a special, resilient, hilarious co travellers. Wherever you are this Christmas, know you’re part of something bigger, and you’re very much appreciated.

Here’s to rest, recovery, a bit of indulgence, and an exciting new year ahead.
