Today’s a public holiday in India — Gandhi’s birthday! We’ve now got two people discharged and back at the hotel, and soon it’ll be a steady stream of everyone returning one by one for their recovery time. India may be chaotic and crowded, but it’s full of magic — the sounds, the smells, and above all, the smiles.

All going well in India. What began as plastic and orthopaedic surgery has somehow increased into a group trip to the dentist on top everythingelse. It’s so affordable here that we’re now all wandering around with shaved-down teeth, all waiting for veneers, caps and implants. Spirits are high, just wish the rain would give us a break. We have had knee replacements, hip replacements, tummy tuck, breast augmentations, and rhinoplasty talk about a varied group of surgeries

What a great day here in Taranaki at the New Plymouth Women’s Lifestyle Expo. We have been absolutely buzzing with people stopping by. Dental has definitely been the main topic of interest today, with a few questions about weight loss surgery as well. Such a good atmosphere and we had my lovely friend Dinah helping eith enquiries to round off the day.

Really good pricing on Air New Zealand at the moment to Los Angeles. I’ve got two spaces left for 22 October.
The sale ends on 5 September so payment is due on 4 September. However, you only need to pay for the airfares and you can pay the balance for Disneyland etc a week prior to departure and you pay for your surgery direct to the hospital, US$4499 for gastric sleeve

A word of caution about bariatric surgery overseas!

I’ve just read an article highlighting the dangers of some clinics in Turkey offering cheap “holiday packages” for weight loss surgery. While there are excellent surgeons and hospitals in Turkey — and I know of a highly skilled, accredited bariatric surgeon there who my friend uses — unfortunately, many of the cheaper options are targeting Kiwis with deals that can put people at serious risk.

This is exactly why I won’t ever place any of my clients into an unsafe or unaccredited situation. For the past three years, I’ve only worked with a trusted, accredited team in Mexico where standards are high and patients are in safe hands — and we’ve never had an issue.

When it comes to your health, please remember: accreditation and experience matter more than price. Don’t risk your life for a bargain.

What a day! Standing all day at the Hamilton Women’s Lifestyle Expo – my feet are officially broken. But wow, I chatted to so many people. The hottest topic today? Teeth! Honestly feels like every second person wants to fly to Thailand for dental work (move over tummy tucks and facelifts, you’ve got competition!). Also lined up a few of those too for Thailand and India. Quite a few for Mexico, so I’ve only got three spaces left for October weight loss surgery.

Our last day in sunny San Diego! Last night looked like a squirrel convention with everyone stuffing their treasures into suitcases. We’ve had the zoo-goers, the history buffs on the USS Midway, trolley tour explorers, museum wanderers, and park strollers and of course the shopaholics After a huge trip with 13 of us (including Pam and Brian), we’ve made it to the finish line—still smiling, still laughing, and maybe just a little lighter without their stomachs but not the luggage, some have bought a second suitcase and is still full to the brim!
But it never amazes me, as busy as it has been, I still always look forward to the next trip which is only eight weeks away on the 21 October
