🌱 Te Uru Kahika 🌱
Over the past few weeks, our rangatahi have stepped into the powerful current of Te Uru Kahika, a kaupapa grounded in identity, hauora, and taiao 🌊🌿
Te Uru Kahika creates space for rangatahi to explore and express who they are, where they come from, and where they're heading 🍃✨

What We Got Up To:
• Marae-based Wānanga – Our rangatahi were welcomed into sacred spaces to learn tikanga marae, te reo Māori, whakapapa, and kawa in an immersive, supportive setting 🏠💬
• Wellbeing Sessions – Facilitated by Luke Gray of Wāhi Limited, these two impactful sessions focused on strengthening hauora – covering kaupapa like how to manage when life gets tough, finding ways to cope, and creating space for honest kōrero 💭🧠💚
• Cooking Sessions – Rangatahi got hands-on in the kitchen, learning how to prepare kai while building confidence, connection, and life skills 🍽️👩‍🍳🤝
• Sports and Movement – Kī-o-rahi was a highlight for physical engagement, promoting movement, learning strategy and maintaining high energy 🥎🔥💪
• Leadership & Future Pathways – We held kōrero and workshops with inspiring role models, exploring what it means to lead with mana and purpose 🗣️🌟👣

We are beyond proud of the way our rangatahi showed up – for themselves and for each other 🙌❤️

This isn't the end...
We're keeping Te Uru Kahika going through our Study Club – a safe, welcoming space where rangatahi can come to study, hang out, have a kai, or reach out for any support 📚🍲🤗
Whether you're prepping for exams, working on assignments, or just needing someone to talk to – this will be your space 📝🫶

Keep an eye out 👀👂

Ngā mihi to all our facilitators, whānau, and supporters who made this wānanga possible 🙏💖
A special mention to Shanara Tuaupiki at MYD for her ongoing tautoko! ❤️🌈
