Millstream Gardens - Natural Herbal Ointments and Skin Care

Millstream Gardens - Natural Herbal Ointments and Skin Care We are a small family run cottage industry here at Millstream Gardens.

We interweave making ointments and oils, packing orders, and tending to our herb gardens, where we grow the plants used in our products.

Making, labeling, packing, selling - we do it all in the small brick and mortar Millstream Gardens shop in Pukehou. Some of you have noticed that we have recently moved some things around, so here's a quick tour! We're open most days, so you're welcome to come and visit - just give us a ring if making a special trip to check we're around.

This is an amazing set up, delivering resources where they are most urgently needed. It's sobering to realise that many people are without basic things like bedding, cooking and kitchen supplies and warm clothes. Not only do the crew at Re source bridge these gaps they, and a broader team recycle and repair many items that would previously have ended up in the landfill.

🧂 Calling all cupboards! 🍴

We’re running low on essential kitchenware — the kind of basics that help turn a house into a home.

We’re especially in need of:

Plates, bowls, cutlery

Pots, pans, baking trays

Cooking utensils

Chopping boards, mugs, glasses

If you’ve got good-condition extras at home or can rally your workplace or friend group for a mini collection, we’d love to hear from you 💛

💬 Drop us a message or email us at admin@re-source.co.nz to arrange drop-off or pickup. Every item you pass on helps set someone up for a fresh start.

Thank you for keeping our shelves — and hearts — full.

... And now for some exciting news:
It was an absolute delight to have the good people from BayBuzz, Florence and Lizzie, come out and explore Millstream Gardens and the Unpacking the Too Hard Basket exhibition, which all resulted in a multipage spread with a lovely write-up in the magazine.
Still two whole weeks to go at the Central Hawkes Museum, so there is still time to support local artists and charities.

Macerated oils, also called infused oils, are carrier oils (in our case sunflower oil) that have been used as a solvent to extract properties of the plants. It's quite a simple process, really, but it takes time, presence, and intention to do. It is yet another amazing part of our job, and seeing all the oils in the sun always looks fantastic.

A plant appreciation post. The Kawakawa that is growing on the small block of land where we source it from is looking so beautiful and happy this year, with lots of new growth and good colours. It's always great going up to our "satellite office" to pick it.
