In recent days a modest number of telephone calls have been received with regard to
Mr Jacob Ngarewa formerly a company director of DIGNITY CREMATIONS LIMITED and AFFORDABLE FAREWELLS LIMITED based in Te Kuiti.
I formerly advise that Ormsby Family Funerals Otorohanga is not in any manner connected to, associated with or working alongside Mr Ngarewa his business entities and or any pre paid funeral trust funds he might possibly oversee.
Ormsby Family Funerals has on occasion in the past provided trade embalming services to Mr Ngarewa's then funeral business and have also engaged him as a contracted Funeral Celebrant, however he has never at any time been a paid employee of Ormsby Family Funerals.
I can also advise that whilst Mrs Jaqueline Ormsby Ngarewa and I share a close family connection, like her husband Jacob there is no formal association between her and Ormsby Family Funerals.

This post is not intended to be just another business giving notice to its past, present or future clients with regard to the current Covid-19 pandemic and its responsibilities directed by the MOH and Parliament.
However, to ensure our local whanau have uninterrupted access to our funeral services, our team must now put measures in place that will guarantee the health and safety of our team and bereaved whanau choosing our business as their preferred funeral provider.
Sadly, in response to rising infection rates, all funeral arrangements under Red Light Phase Two restrictions will now be conducted as follows:

1: Initial funeral arrangements will be conducted via Telephone
or Video conferencing call.
No in person arrangements will be conducted.
2: No persons vaccinated or unvaccinated will be permitted to
physically travel in a funeral vehicle operated by our team
whilst transferring loved ones.
3: Only 2 individuals per funeral arrangement with current
vaccine passes may enter our premises for the purposes of
waiting and dressing of loved ones.
4: Standard Covid protocols (Mask, Hand Washing, Sanitising,
Social Distancing, Scanning / Signing In) are a requirement.
5: Food or beverages must not be consumed inside our funeral
facility premises.
6: All individuals wishing to act as pall bearers must:
Remain outside the premises until called by our team member.
Must wear a mask inside the premises, sanitise their hands,
sign/scan in.
7: Funerals conducted off site at locations not under the
direction of Ormsby Family Funerals, shall be the responsibility
of whanau appointed individuals to whom the recently
deceased has been released into the care of.

Whatever our individual opinions with regard to the current Covid 19 restrictions, it cannot be denied that the health, welfare and safety of our community elders, children and those with existing health conditions be protected by whatever means possible.

Our funeral facility has an attached unit that is the residence of two senior Maniapoto Kaumatua, it would be highly negligible of me and our team if we did not attempt in any way to ensure the safety and well being of these two very special people.

Please help us to help you and your whanau remain safe and well in an uncertain climate in uncertain times.
