What we're doing:
🔷 Our teams have been out today clearing and connecting with priority areas across the district.
🔷 Our Emergency Operations Centre will activate tomorrow morning to monitor, respond, and support our regional neighbours.
🔷 We're working with our emergency management partners such as Electra, Fire and Emergency NZ, New Zealand Police, and Wellington Free Ambulance.

What you can do today:
🌊Move your vehicles and anything else that may cause a safety risk or get damaged if you live near the ocean.
🌊 Pack away, secure or move objects outside your home like trampolines, outdoor furniture, BBQs.
🌊 Clear house gutters and any nearby drains.
🌊 Check your whānau and whare grab bag is stocked and ready to go.
🌊 Bring pets inside where possible.
🌊 Have batteries for torches ready to go as power outages may occur.

What to do tomorrow
⚠️ Avoid travelling. If you normally commute within the region and can work from home, please do so.
⚠️ Avoid being on the beaches and rivers, plus don’t go into the water.

Rubbish and recycling collection
🔷 If your collection day is Thursday and your household can wait until your next collection day, don't put your bins out. You can always drop off your recycling for free at our Resource Recovery centres in Ōtaki and Otaihanga once the weather clears.
