Silage is off and the paddock is ready for its next phase of growth.
This is one of the best moments to support soil biology and set the pasture up for strong recovery before summer heats up.

After a cut, plants and microbes are working hard to rebuild. A seaweed based biostimulant helps this process by supporting:

Faster regrowth
Natural growth compounds encourage new shoots and stronger root recovery.

Active soil biology
Carbohydrates in seaweed feed beneficial microbes so they can cycle nutrients already in the soil.

Heat and dry resilience
Seaweed supports water regulation in plants, helping them handle hot, dry periods.

Stronger clover
Trace elements and natural chelation support nodulation and nitrogen fixation.

If you are planning your post silage program, our field consultants can help with a simple, farm ready recommendation.

As temperatures rise, planning ahead can make all the difference.

Rere Ki Uta, Rere Ki Tai - Living Soil Project, has shared a comprehensive blog written by their Farm Systems Analysis lead Alison Dewes, covering the key priorities for keeping animals comfortable, pastures productive, and infrastructure protected through the summer months.

Read the blog here:

Prepare your farm for summer with practical steps to manage heat stress, water demand, feed pinches, fire risk, and animal health. Key priorities to keep stock safe and pastures productive through December to February.

In hot, dry conditions, root uptake slows and crops go into survival mode. That is when foliar nutrition really pays.

AgriSea Foliar Nutrition is a locally made, naturally fermented extract of Ecklonia radiata (NZ seaweed). Unlike chemical extraction, our process avoids harsh solvents and high heat, so more of the natural compounds stay intact and available to your plants.

These include key bioactives - natural auxins and cytokinins (plant growth regulators), amino acids and osmolytes - that help crops handle heat and moisture stress.

What that means in your block:

✅ Stronger roots, faster recovery
Natural auxins and cytokinins support fine root growth and root function after hot, dry spells.

✅ Greener, working canopies
Bioactives and amino acids support chlorophyll and enzyme activity, so leaves keep photosynthesising instead of shutting down.

✅ Gentle, tank-compatible
Cold processing makes it soft on foliage and easy to slot into existing spray programmes (always jar test first).

Add AgriSea Foliar Nutrition to your summer programme to keep crops growing, not just surviving.

🎄 Christmas Break-Up 2025 🎄
We wrapped up the year with an awesome team day out! First stop was the Maritime Museum in Paeroa, where we rolled up our sleeves and helped set up their Christmas lights display - opening 12th December. Always special to support our community volunteers ✨

After that, we headed to the Falls Retreat for a relaxed evening of great food, a fun treasure hunt, and our end-of-year prizegiving.

This photo of some of our team was taken beside a special memorial Puriri tree planted in honour of our late teammate of over 20 years, Lindsay Wehipeihana, who passed away in August. ❤️

A meaningful and memorable way to celebrate the year.
Here’s to an even bigger and better 2026! 🎉

Today is International Soil Day.
A good reminder that the best growth on farm starts below the surface. Healthy soil holds water, supports stronger pastures, and builds resilience through dry summers and challenging seasons.

Soil is a living system. When we look after the biology beneath our feet, we support healthier animals, stronger landscapes, and a more resilient future for food and farming.

Here is to the hardworking soils that keep New Zealand farming.

Heat stress isn’t just cows feeling hot - it drives oxidative stress, where excess free radicals start damaging cells, immunity and production. That’s where AgriSea Animal Nutrition comes in.

In Lincoln University dairy research, cows on Animal Nutrition showed a 15% increase in Total Antioxidant Status and a 9% lift in Volatile Fatty Acids (VFAs).

Higher antioxidants = better protection against heat-driven oxidative stress.

More VFAs = more rumen-derived energy to support milk production, appetite and body condition when summer pasture quality drops.

In simple terms: AgriSea Animal Nutrition means healthier, happier, more comfortable cows that keep performing when the heat is on.

What would an 18.5 percent increase in lamb average daily gain mean for your system?

A recent Lincoln University trial has provided clear evidence of the productive advantages of AgriSea treated rye and clover. The study measured animal performance, pasture response, and metabolic markers, with several notable outcomes.

Key findings included:
• 18.5 percent higher ADG from lambing to weaning (385g/d vs 325g/d)
• An additional 4.8kg liveweight per lamb over an 80-day period
• $19.20 to $24 additional revenue per lamb, based on conservative store lamb values
• A net return of $146 to $204 per hectare after accounting for product input costs
• Ewes on treated pasture gained 89g/day, compared with 16g/day on untreated pasture
• NEFA levels were 39 percent lower in ewes on treated pasture, indicating reduced metabolic stress

These results highlight the role of AgriSea nutrition in improving animal performance, pasture function, and overall system resilience.
