Today we farewelled our dear friend and colleague Lindsay Wehipeihana who passed away at home 28th August.

Lindsay has been part of the fabric of AgriSea since back in the early 2000’s when we were known as Ocean Organics.

Lindsay was responsible for Ocean Organic products being distributed throughout the Nations health food stores, garden centres and chemists before turning his attention to the AgriSea Biostimulants Range.

Servicing the Viticulture, Horticulture, Turf and Equine sectors. Lindsay built deep relationships with his customers.

Testament to this is when Lindsay returned from retirement over the past 2 years, many of his customers felt like they were welcoming back an old friend, Lindsay continued to share his deep knowledge of growing with AgriSea with people all accross the country.

We will all miss you mate, you will always be a part of the AgriSea story- Ake, Ake, Ake.

Seaweed vs. Seaweed
Not all seaweed extracts are the same. On one side, you have alkali extracted imported seaweed products, and on the other, you have AgriSea’s local products, made through a gentle, natural cold-brew extraction.

In mid-October, a new Bioeconomy Innovations Conference is coming to Rotorua and will include a range of new innovators using natural fibres from our land and sea. One well-established local example will be showcased after a decade of growth. Among others, AgriSea director Clare Bradley will document their challenges and successes in extracting value from fibres. Their seaweed-based products are now used in agriculture, viticulture, horticulture, and apiculture industries in New Zealand and export markets.
