The Herb Farm is also a destination for locals and tourists with 2 acres of themed gardens, retail shop, cafe, seminar room and is a venue for weddings.
The Herb Farm is a family owned and operated business through and through. This can be seen in the old fashioned family values and a commitment to natural which is at the heart of the business and the Kirkland/Cowan's lives.
Lynn and Bill Kirkland brought up their family in rural Manawatu with the philosophy of doing things as naturally as possible, to give their children (Sarah & Craig) the best start in life. After Lynn completed a herbal diploma in 1990 she began to make natural remedies from the family home. The demand for her natural and effective products grew until in 1993 The Herb Farm was established, becoming the home to The Herb Farm's 100% natural skincare and healthcare products.
After traveling the world as an international model and completing her business degree, Sarah joined Lynn as her business partner in 2006 and took over the overall running of the business. Sarah has a passion for The Herb Farm's truly natural products, the destination and an infinity with the business values and philosophies and has taken the business from strength to strength.

Albert Einstein once said “look deep into nature and we learn more about ourselves”.
Herbalist Lynn Kirkland did just that and in 1993 founded The Herb Farm. In doing so she became part of a quiet revolution made up of insightful individuals and companies who believe in the power of nature. People who understood the need to nurture nature, to better the health and future of our planet as well as humankind.
She wanted to give her customers and family the option to use wholly natural products - free of synthetics and chemical nasties. She began by formulating herbal remedies, then created natural skin care products with ingredients that came from the bounty of nature - brimming with all its active goodness.
From humble beginnings and steadfast beliefs, The Herb Farm has grown into a humming business that works in harmony with the environment. This harmony is an intrinsic part of our philosophy and is infused into the DNA of its family.
We grow many of our fresh herb ingredients in the tranquility of our gardens, finding just the right spot for them to thrive. Herbs are picked as we need them, or harvested on the day they are at their very best. Their fresh essence is infused into each of Lynn’s formulations.
What we can’t grow we source from like-minded individuals and companies who share our vision. These ingredients along with the magic of our garden, our care and love, are hand crafted on site into beautiful, natural, products that heal, revitalise and nurture.
