Being real for a moment - I haven’t felt very successful recently. My mental health has not been great - largely due to losing the majority of my flowers in a recent storm. It created a tonne of extra work for us to do in the clean up (which is still ongoing), it set back plans because instead of doing those things, we were cleaning up, and it meant that effectively my season was cut short outside of my own control. It was frustrating, upsetting and depressing. In these moments, it’s good to remind myself what success is for me. And even though part of it is having a thriving cut flower business, the rest of it is spending time with my friends and family, seeing new places, going to the beach and making time for hobbies! And so even though the cut flower business is thriving right now, I’m trying to measure my success on those other things 🫶✨

Had some recent struggles with my mental health primarily due to losing the majority of my flowers in the recent storm 😩
Reminding myself that in those times, success is what I make it. So even if it’s just getting up and starting something for the day - that’s success for me that day. And other days it looks like these moments 🫶✨

Fellow growers know how hard it can be to keep on keeping on with this whole growing thing with all the challenges we face - from weather, to crop failure, to mental (and physical fatigue) to people who don’t believe us or think it’s easy. I see you and I think you’re doing amazing work 🫶✨

Just a girl with her celosia and mental health issues 🫣🙃

Things have been very busy on the farm with picking, sowing and planting in full swing!
Plenty to keep me busy but plenty to stress me out
This celosia has been an amazing crop once again! I think the colours are just gorgeous!
Original seeds were from and then saved by me 🫶✨

Been overthinking this social media thing and been too scared to post (dunno why - let’s blame adhd for feeling entirely overwhelmed by it all). So here’s a quick vid of me with one of my fave flowers. Enjoy ✌🏻💐

Sometimes I have a lot of self doubt that I can do this whole flower growing thing - doubts like I’m always behind schedule, that I can’t keep up with the planning, that I’m not a “real” grower, etc etc.
I hope that on those days - I can look at pics and videos of my wins like this and remember that I can do this whole flower growing thing 😅😁
