Did you know that September is the most common month for birthdays in New Zealand? 🎂

Whether you’re a first-time mum or coming back around for another go, breastfeeding is a journey that’s unique for every baby. It’s not always easy, but if you breastfeed for a day or a year, your efforts matter.

Need some support?
💜 Talk to your midwife or Plunket nurse.
💜 Drop into Te Papaioea Milk Cafe on Wednesdays at 10am. Here you’ll find lots of support around feeding your baby.
💜 Have a chat with your nurse or GP, they can help connect you with lactation consultants.

Here for your health and your whānau.

As part of Local Health, we’re more than just a GP clinic. We’re a community of doctors, nurses, health improvement practitioners, and care coordinators working side by side to support the health of over 30,000 people across the Manawatū.

📍 From Feilding to Ashhurst and Palmerston North, our local teams are helping people every day with everything from everyday check-ups to urgent care, mental health support, physio, and chronic condition management.

✅ Last year alone:
• Over 170,000 consultations
• 6,700 Childhood immunisations
• 7,226 Flu Immunisations
• 120+ staff across four local practices
• Flu shots, blood tests, prescriptions, counselling, x-ray, women's health — all under one roof

We’re proud to be local, grounded in whanaungatanga, and focused on what matters: your health, your people, your place.

Did you know the first district nursing service in NZ started in Christchurch in 1896?

Sibylla Maude, fondly known as “Nurse Maud”, began offering free care to families in need, laying the foundation for community nursing in New Zealand. Her work ensured that basic medical support was available beyond hospital walls, paving the way for today’s health outreach services.

Today, we still carry on this legacy around the country, and our team of nurses and nurse practitioners are at the heart of our practices.

Mark your calendars: Saturday 4 October 10am-2pm Rainbow Fair! FREE entry!

We’re thrilled to team up with to bring back the Rainbow Fair — and this year, it’s bigger and better!

The fair has moved to the Fly Palmy Arena, which provides ample space for more stalls, more entertainment (and more sparkle!).

Our health centre is committed to supporting the wellbeing of all people in our community. So, naturally, we’re thrilled to be part of this amazing event that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and belonging - values that are at the heart of quality healthcare.

We recognise that members of the LGBTQIA+ community often face barriers to accessing safe and affirming health services. By sponsoring the Rainbow Fair, we want to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming, supportive environment for everyone.
