Wow – what a weekend!
A massive thank you to the Taupo Marathon team for hosting such an incredible event.

To our Achilles athletes – your energy, determination, and the way you embrace every challenge is truly inspiring. You light up the course and remind us all what resilience looks like.

To our volunteer guides – we simply couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for giving up your weekend to help someone else reach their finish line. What a privilege it is to share that journey.

And to our awesome friends from Achilles Auckland, Achilles Tauranga Moana and Achilles Waikato – it was so special to reconnect, share stories, and create new friendships.

Here’s to more miles, more smiles, and more unforgettable moments together! 💛💛💛

Celebrating Inclusive Sport with Achilles New Zealand 🏃‍♀️👂

We’re thrilled to acknowledge Achilles International New Zealand for their incredible commitment to inclusion through their participation in our Game On! Deaf Awareness in Sports Programme.

This programme has been a game-changer for their athletes, guides, and volunteers, equipping them with practical tools and insights to better support Deaf and hard-of-hearing members.

As Maia Lewis, National Manager of Achilles NZ, shared:

"This one-hour, information-filled course provided useful facts, tips, tricks and buzz words to improve our understanding and confidence when working and connecting with Deaf or hard of hearing people."

What an amazing weekend - minus temps to wake up to and then beautiful sunny days.
Great to see lots of people out and about training for Taupo and enjoying the great weather at different locations
