A creative surprise! 👁️💙

We’re absolutely thrilled to share this amazing poster from one of our young patients.

Max has been seeing us since he was just four years old and now at ten, he’s created this fantastic project all about how the eye works.

He’s drawn the anatomy of the eye, explained how we see, and even added some fun facts. We think it’s such a great reflection of curiosity, learning, and the importance of looking after our eyes from a young age.

It’s always so special to see our young patients grow up. Thank you for sharing your love of science and vision with us!

At Naylor Palmer Optometry, our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care to our clients throughout the Manawatu and surrounding areas.

Then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

We’re looking for a bubbly, reliable, and friendly individual who is eager to learn and grow in the role of an optical assistant. This is a key role in our practice, where you'll work closely with both our wonderful clients and our highly skilled team, consisting of exceptional optometrists and dispensing opticians.
We’re seeking someone who brings:
• A professional and positive attitude
• A neat, tidy, and well-presented appearance
• Reliability and punctuality
• Motivation and initiative
• A desire to grow within the optical industry
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently
• Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively

This is a permanent position, with hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., either 24 or 32 hours per week, with the potential to transition to full-time for the right candidate.
Previous experience in the optical industry is not required, however, we're keen to hear if you have experience - we’re happy to train the right person who fits our team and values.

A talented group of young tamariki from Central Normal School have created a beautiful mural featuring landmarks around Palmerston North that hold special meaning to them. We are incredibly proud to be included in this amazing piece of artwork.

Please see below what the Mural Facilitator said about the mural:

“The students were reflecting on what makes a community - the places that we need to be healthy and safe, the places that uphold our cultures and beliefs, the places we live, play and explore. On our van trip around our school zone we all looked out for “our places” that we had a personal connection to, which is how Naylor Palmer came to be in our mural! We depicted the places as a long strip of Polaroid photos. The mural is on the school fence on Beresford Street for the community to enjoy.”
