Community Birth Services

Community Birth Services Update: as of 31/03/2023, services will no longer be provided by CBS for Breastfeeding & Lactation support and education in the Midcentral region.

An update will be released soon on where to get support from April onwards. Community Birth Services is a charitable trust established in 1996 and works with the local community to support families through their breastfeeding, lactation and early parenting journey.

Priscilla was the bright light that guided Community Birth Services and many other initiatives in our region.
We miss her, and her 'get it done' sass.
Please come along to Priscilla's Love of Vintage event.... Proceeds go towards a very dear cause to Priscilla's heart.

Today's Tuesday Terminology is "Responsive feeding"

Breastfeeding works best when you feed your baby responsively. It can ensure that you establish and maintain a good milk supply, as well as keeping baby baby happy! It will also help your breasts feel comfortable and avoid engorgement.

There are no limits to how often you breastfeed your baby, and they may feed for a number of reasons.

- Hunger
- Comfort
- Tiredness, etc.

You can find more information on responsive feeding here:
