Mental health support is a phone call or text away.
1737 is available by free call or free text at any time, 24 hours a day for those needing support from a trained counsellor.
• Are you feeling stressed or just need someone to talk to?
• Are you feeling down or a bit overwhelmed?
• Do you know someone who is feeling out-of-sorts or down?
You can talk to (or text with) a trained counsellor or talk to a peer support worker. Their service is completely free.

What is a colposcopy?
If you've had an abnormal cervical screening, your doctor might recommend a colposcopy. It’s a simple, in-office procedure that uses a special microscope (called a colposcope) to take a closer look at your cervix, va**na, and v***a for any abnormal cells.

🩺 It’s quick (usually 10–20 mins), and while it might feel a bit uncomfortable, it’s an important step in preventing cervical cancer.
💬 Knowing what to expect can help ease anxiety - so don’t be afraid to ask questions and talk to your healthcare provider.

Thanks to the fabulous Olivia Smart, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, for explaining this procedure - check out our video.

Our www.info.health.nz website contains lots of info about women’s health topics, including:
✅ Breast screening
✅ Cervical screening (you can now do a self-test!)
✅ Periods
✅ Menopause

And lots more!

There is also lots of great information and resources on the Women’s Health Week website: www.womenshealthweek.nz

If you have any concerns about your health, have a kōrero with your usual doctor or use the new 24/7 online GP service via the info.health.nz home page.

Happy Women’s Health Week!
