Last Thursday, we celebrated the International Day of Biological Diversity in the best way possible — by rolling up our sleeves for our Annual Sand Dune Planting event.

It was a fantastic morning of fresh air, laughter, and community spirit as residents came together to help care for our stunning coastal environment. A huge thank you to everyone who joined in, and to Coast Care for guiding us and providing the spinifex plants.

Sophie Garth, a Bay of Plenty-based makeup artist and host of The New Zealand Makeup Podcast, recently held a workshop at Pacific Coast and Pacific Lakes Villages, focusing on the importance of conscious beauty choices. She shared her passion for clean, eco-friendly cosmetics and highlighted the harmful ingredients in many everyday products, such as PFAS, which can accumulate in the body over time and cause health risks. Sophie encourages consumers to shop local and make safer, more sustainable choices.
